I want to give my mom a cutting of my Gryphon Begonia. I know it is Rhizomatous and i originally grew mine from a single leaf but it took months to show any real growth. Is there a better way to propagate? (Pics for reference)
You may try the begonia subreddit, too. She’s a beauty!

Rhizomatous begonias propagate best with leaf cuttings directly in soil kept in a high humid enviroment like a prop box or bag or Tupperware.
Cut a healthy leaf and leave an inch or so of stem and push it down into aerated soil and keep moist and at least 80% humidity if not more. Warmth will help. You can trim some of the leaf off too, some have better success that way with begonias that have larger leaves.

I found a lot more success putting mine in water to root, 90% in dirt died in first 2 weeks. I had about 10% failure in water.
I just was not able to meet its water needs in dirt.

I snapped one of the stems off (accidentally) and put it in water. It had few roots in a couple of weeks. Just put it in dirt.
