The hands-on session will take place on January 4 at Dobbies Garden Centre as part of the garden centre’s monthly Little Seedlings Club.

The workshop will focus on recycling Christmas trees, teaching children where real trees come from, why they benefit nature, and how to recycle them safely and responsibly.

Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager for Dobbies, said: “Our Little Seedlings Club in January is ideal for young gardeners looking for an exciting project now that Christmas is over.

“The workshop at our Swindon store also covers some simple ways to help the planet.

“We are all looking forward to welcoming the Little Seedlings for the first session of 2026 and to see their wildlife habitat creations created from recycled Christmas trees.”

The session will include a true or false game and a practical activity where children will use recycled tree branches to build a mini wildlife habitat for their gardens.

These habitats can provide shelter for animals such as hedgehogs, insects, and frogs during the winter months.

Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club runs monthly at the Swindon store, covering a variety of seasonal gardening topics through interactive activities and games.
