I may have gone slightly too long without watering this plant. It was just starting to get its mature leaves and now everything is arrivals up. I tried placing it next to a humicier to get it to unfold again but nothing changes after a whole week. It looks worst every day. It’s roots look ok as far as I can tell but I really don’t wanna start this plant from the beginning g as it is the first calathea I got over a year ago and was just getting mature.
is there anyway to save her or is it too late? All my other catches also experienced the same thing but bouched back well.
What are your watering habits: water when no longer moist as they like to be a bit wet, usually let it dry out mostly and only water when pot is light as well
how often and how much: a full soak to get all soil moist
does the pot have drainage: yes
How long you have you had the plant: One year and a half
How long have you had the problem?: since winter started and I may have gone slightly to long without watering it all other calathea are fine though so just this one had a problem
How much light does the plant get?: indirect low light
What type of soil are you using? : tropical soil with little to no perlite as this was the only soil the store near me had use to have an average soil with perlite

I have done this exact thing before. All the current leaves are probably too far gone to save, but if the roots are fine, it’ll put up new leaves someday. Just don’t overwater, because without leaves the plant has no way to evaporate the water out of the soil and you’ll need to water way less frequently than usual.
Caveat: I have also done this where a tiny calathea got tucked behind a larger plant and missed getting watered for, like, months. Even the roots and rhizomes were crispy fried and it was way too far gone 😅. RIP Vespa the calathea Maui Princess. You were a bitch but the spider mites loved you best.
My has also done this, this winter🥲 nice leafy rattlesnake which all shriveled and curled. I have one leaf left. I’m holding onto it until the warmer months to see if it comes back. I’ll probably repot into smaller pot so I also suffered major root rot and the pots it’s in is too big now.
