The pandemic was rearing its ugly head,
lockdown was being imposed,
the world was getting scared.
I was not as much,
fo awareness and favorable circumstance.
We had got a new house,
in a peaceful suburb.
In that uncertainty,
the hope of gardening
kept me buoyant.
A long-held dream
is going to be materialized.
To that a new baby girl
had joined the family.
The breadwinner spouse,
faced no risk, with opportunity
to work from home.
Amazon came to the rescue,
as I ordered materials and seeds.
My spouse bought bags of soil
tools, and a shovel.
I felt like the luckiest person,
in the world, with the frenzy of work,
the artist in me was itching,
to turn the barren space,
into a floral haven.
I would wait for the morning
to step into the yard.
I worked continuously,
well into sunsets,
taking breaks in between.
If you have sown seeds.
you know, germination is delightful.
I saw flowers bloom,
and pollinators arrived.
I harvested greens and tomatoes.
This growing garden
became my moral support,
and healed soul,
during the gloomy time of lockdown.
