This summer, while I was in obsessive acquisition mode (OAM), I bought a bunch of little plants and cuttings on Etsy. One of them was a “harlequin” manjula I got as a single leaf node cutting (2nd photo). It refused to root in water, and the leaf eventually browned almost completely.
With nothing to lose, I stuck the rootless node and nearly dead leaf in a pot. Then the original leaf fell off. Then it grew a new leaf (1st photo)! Yes, there is a moss pole behind it. I already had it prepared for another cutting, and I figured I would be getting the pot back pretty quickly when this thing croaked. So now I have the tiniest pothos ever to be grown on a touchless moss pole. 😜 I’m afraid to do anything to it. I’m afraid of overwatering it. I’m afraid of underwatering it.
As to the question of ID: Is the harlequin manjula just high variegation on a regular manjula (like the snow vs marble queen relationship)? Because I don’t think it looks any different from my regular manjula (3rd photo). I would even argue that the variegation on the regular manjula has more of what I consider harlequin characteristics than the one I bought as a harlequin. I already have more manjula than I know what to do with. I hate to think I’m working so hard to keep this one little sprig of the very same plant!

Obsessive acquisition mode 😭 been there
The little Manjula that could.
It’s been a journey! Are the white parts of the leaves stark white or a creamy white? If they’re not really white And mostly white, it’s a regular Manjula.
