Idk if there’s anything necessarily wrong but you could move the soil and give the roots a gentle check. I’ve never seen that before tho. If I were you I’d check the root ball tho as non invasively as I can since calatheas are a little sensitive.
The plant looks healthy otherwise. New growth is a good sign. Looks dense with leaves.
