I only discovered this sub and a good thing, too, because I just saw these 2 sticky blobs on my beloved calathea. Is this the sign of pest invasion? Or do these plants weep sticky serum? Any help is greatly appeared. I love this little plant. Thanks.

    Recently watered?

They leak fluid from their leaves if they take on too much water at once, it’s called guttation if you want to look into it more 🙂

Inspect the leaf for signs of damage or pests. Calatheas do excrete a sticky liquid if pests like spider mites, scale, etc are present, or sometimes in cases of mechanical damage.
