Went to an event a couple weeks ago and they were giving these out. Since then we have had some pretty wild temp swings. Down to single digits last week, today high of 54.
Is it too late to plant this? Any way this can survive winter in the pot?
Looked it up and it looks like an excellent tree for my front yard, so hoping it can be salvaged
TIA

I just planted today. Tulips and other spring bulbs. The ground was still “sliceable” with a shovel, even if there was ice in it. It was almost like digging into ice cream vs digging into yogurt. Still doable, just not as easy. I’m 7a though, but I’d think you’d be about the same.
As long as the ground isn’t frozen then you can plant it. I’ve had better luck planting things as opposed to keeping them alive in planters. Also, make sure it’s not planted too deep in the pot.
I’d absolutely plant it if your ground isn’t frozen solid.
Plant it!
