This hoya I bought in Dec 2023 has been growing steadily since I moved into a west facing apartment last June and it bloomed for the first time shortly after that (I love the scent!) As it’s my first hoya, I didn’t really know they needed trellisis until recently, and now I’m wondering if it’s too late to use one? Today I tried wrapping it around a u-shaped trellis but the leaves are too dense for it and I don’t think I’ll be able to fit all the branches around it. I also have a small grid type trellis which again seems too small for the plant.
Should I leave it as it is or should I find a trellis that will fit in size and shape? I think it looks great this way too but I’m not able to hang it and the vines are getting too long for the plant stand. Would it be ok growing like this or is climbing on a trellis the way to go?

I think she is beautiful just the way she is.
It doesn’t need a trellis. You can let it trail. It looks lovely as-is.
I like it trailing. Probably will have to put it somewhere else if its getting to long for the plants stand or what about a taller pot/ planter? You could put something inside that pot. Maybe put another pot upside down to raise it up? There’s also those hanging plant stands if you aren’t able to hang it from your wall.
Some need trellises, some dont~ these don’t.. they look beautiful hanging as you’ve done~ might need to put her up a little higher as she get longer but other than that, you don’t need to change a thing! Love the blooms!!
Some want to trellis others dont mine didint start growing till I temporarily gave it some support which encouraged the tendrils to do their thing now its huge and no longer needs anything to support it whilst it pushes growth.
