COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The City of Colorado Springs announced Monday upcoming overnight lane closures on Garden of the Gods Road.
According to the city, eastbound and westbound Garden of the Gods Road, east of I-25, will close overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday for the construction of new traffic signals.
The planned lane closures will be from 8 p.m. on Wednesday until 5 a.m. on Thursday.
The area affected is near Northpark Drive and Mark Dabling Boulevard.
At least one lane in each direction will remain open during these night operations, which are a continuation of daytime construction conditions.
City officials encourage drivers to use extra caution in these areas. Safety barriers will be in place, and drivers can expect to see heavy equipment, safety signage, artificial lighting and workers on foot.
The project underway includes the installation of new traffic signals to make the area safer for drivers and pedestrians, officials said.
