Do not touch that hose yet or you are going to regret it. You still have way too much dust sitting on the face of those pavers and if you wet it now you are going to get polyhaze which is basically a permanent glue film that makes your patio look dusty forever. I fix failed hardscapes like this all the time and removing that haze is a nightmare so you need to get the surface 100% clean before water touches it.
Put the broom away because it is clearly just pushing the fine dust into the texture of the brick. Grab a leaf blower and run it on idle or the lowest possible setting. You want to hold it at a shallow angle and gently blow the dust off the surface without scouring the sand out of the joints. You actually want the sand level to be about an eighth of an inch below the edge of the paver rather than flush with the top so don’t worry if a little comes out.
Once you think it is clean blow it off one more time just to be safe. The rule is that if you wipe your finger on the brick and it picks up any dust at all you are not ready to water. Take your time here because once that polymeric activates there is no going back.
