The Keokuk Garden Club was the recipient of the most recent Golden Oak Society award of $6,000 for their Rand Park beautification project. They are installing a large, lighted metal sculpture in the garden area.

The Garden Club has worked with the Park Board and City Council on plans for this art piece, and is ready to start installation with this funding.

This is the 25th award since GOS began in 2019, totaling $150,000 in community betterment. Currently, 64 members provide quarterly awards of $6,000.

Membership requirements are minimal. Each member pays $410 per year in annual or quarterly payments. There are no other fundraising activities. Quarterly meetings are not mandatory and voting is done online.

Additional members will allow quarterly award amounts to increase, so consider an individual, group, family, sponsored, business or lifetime membership. GOS is a great way to meet others, learn what is happening in the area and give a meaningful award to local causes. For more information, contact a board member today:
