I found this thing on the sidewalk. I thought it was a avocado or weirdly shaped coconut at first, but when I cut it open, it has something that resembles cotton, and on the very inside there are some sort of soft seeds clumped together.

Some sort of milkweed pod? Initially, I thought coconut, but after looking at the picture of the inside, I’m leaning towards milkweed.

It looks like a cerbera fruit. Where did you get it? And where do you live?

Location? Kind of reminds me of Ceiba pentandra’s fruit.

Best guess is a money tree/Guiana chestnut.
    Pachira aquatica.
    (Or a close relative)
Native to central and South America.
    Usually grow in wet locations.

Silk cotton tree seed pod. When they are ripe it splits open and the seeds fly away.

Looks like a coconut. 🥥 It usually falls from the sky. Is the sky falling?

I think looks a lot like a cocoa pod
