Currently there is no drainage hole in that container because the pothos was propagated in water and wanted to help it transition better into a chunky aroid mix. Planning on slowly transitioning it and eventually drilling holes in the bottom for drainage. But I just feel like I do something wrong here. Did I use too big of a plank?

I don’t really see a problem aesthetically it might look a little funny to some but you won’t have to switch out the pole for a while

I mean it’ll work but the roots from the nodes will just grip the wood and not grow into a substrate, which would be the point of a moss pole. Full send though!

Sorry I have no answers to your question but I’d like to know where you got that plank..

this will work but you dont need to transition the pothos into soil like that, the benefits of water propagating are not comparable to very damp soil so youre better off adding drainage holes now

It’s a pothos. It will be fine on that plank.
