Dahlia's were basically a new thing to me, this year. So I've been very impressed by their consistently pleasing appearance and range of bloom appearances… The first 3 are phone pictures from family friend's garden, up the road, which I'd not visited before. Late summer. The last (white and red) from a front garden further afield, in the opposite direction.

Explanatory blur (about me): I've been sharing daily, since late April, my enthusiastic amateur phone and SLR pics with my existing friends in the chronic illness communities, on other social media. under the "BloomScrolling" tag. I've just discovered this community and figured it might be nice to post a recap of some of my favourite shots from my unprecedented year of exploring the suburban beauty that's been inaccessible all around me. Here in the UK.

I have barely had the energy to go for a walk up our lovely garden, since a previous remission in 2013 tapered off. But I've been implementing a lot of new self-treatment interventions since mid-2024, and hoping my improvements stick!

I've been using my OnePlus 8T phone and occasionally old SLR – Nikon D5100 with 26-200mm equivalent lens.

Outstanding shots. I especially like the off-center ones. Very effective!
