Weekend well spent!
I brought my toddler to two places that I used to visit often back when I stayed in Queenstown, before she was born.
Our first stop was the McDonald’s Rideout Tea Garden at Queensway. This historic tea garden has such a long history. It used to be a Japanese Garden in the 1970s, which was then destroyed by fire in the late 70s. Then, in the 80s, Rideout Tea Garden was built and KFC opened their store there. Then, McD took over in 1989. Today, it’s one of the oldest McDonald’s outlets in Singapore.
The highlight of the McD is definitely the turtles! There were so many turtles sunbathing on the rock. This was the first time my daughter got a close-up view of real-life turtles and she was beyond excited. She even refused to go for lunch because she wanted to keep watching them!
Even though I visited this McD often in the past, I didn’t know there’s an indoor playground hidden in this restaurant! We only found it right before we left, so I let my daughter squeezed in a quick play. There’s also a mini Japanese Garden which I missed, and I only found out a few mins ago when I was researching, guess I should return again! I also appreciate that this outlet has its own baby changing room!
Our next stop was Queenstown Library. It was originally scheduled for renovation this year, but it’s still open to the public, so yay we still have chance to visit it!
Queenstown Library has a kids’ section at Level 1. There are special shelves with books for kids aged 0 to 3 years old. There are also plenty of cute kid-sized tables and chairs for the little readers. It’s safe to say that my daughter enjoyed exploring the books and the library!
Then, we went home for dinner and shower. It was a tiring day for her, she slept from 8pm all the way to 8am the next day!
