In May, this tree was infested with little black beetles. All over the tree trunk and root. Then they disappeared after a week or so.
Sap is visible on the trunk. Needles fall to the ground. But the tree has looked the same (green) for at least a decade.
My question is what are these beetles, and how do I prevent them returning? And will my tree be ok?
