I was looking forward to buy some of those micans variegated cutting from a private seller but it looks like they all completely lost the variegation in the new leaves, does that mean they are permanently reverted or variegation can still pop out in the future?
Sorry if they aren't really rare plants but I trust this sub people judgment more than any other
I have never had a stable micans var. Tried 3 times. All 3 went full var and died from lack of sugar.

On the first one, the aurea, did you buy a midcut that never produced color or did the color fade on the new growth?
The halos look like there are nodes with variegation. Those you just need to cut back. But wait a few leaves first to see if the color comes back.
Micans is a pain in the butt with variegation because the nodes for new growth are on the opposite side of the leaf. So you’ll prop or buy a mid cut of a leaf with beautiful color and the other side of the plant was green, the seller didnt say anything, doesn’t show the node or stem striping, and you get screwed. It also likes to quickly revert. But its easy to prop. Just save all the props. Not just the ones showing color. And grow them out. Keep multiple in case on reverts.Sometimes they will surprise you with color after 5 leaves of nothing so I like to keep a good amount of my props so I have back ups. The halos I havent had near as much issue with though.

I have a Micans Aurea that reverted, I chopped & propped and the variegation has come back although it’s not consistent. Same with my Micans Mint.
