Potatoes (as in, the part of the potato plant that we eat) are also tubers, and like a potato, you may be able to propagate the plant from this tuber if it’s still alive.

Nobody talking about the reused soil!? If your ZZ “perished” due to possible root rot, then you risk spreading it to whatever plant you used it on next.

I had a zz plant rhizome lay dormant for literally over a year, I gave it water very seldomly.. like once every couple of months, and it came back..

Pot it with a new chunky soil mix and that baby will be back. It’s not dead yet.
