Police have issued an appeal for the public’s help

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a car hit a garden wall early today, Monday.

The man, who police said is aged in his 80s, is believed to have suffered a suspected medical episode at the wheel ahead of the crash, Greater Manchester Police added.

He’s said by the force to remain in hospital ‘in a life-threatening condition’. There have been no reports of any other injuries. Emergency services were called to Moss Lane in the Timperley area of Trafford at around 9.30am on Monday morning.

Investigating officers have now issued an appeal for anyone with information or video footage to come forward. The man hasn’t been named.

In a statement, GMP said: “Officers are appealing for information after a man sustained serious injuries in a collision in Trafford.

“At around 9.30am this morning (15 December), officers and emergency services attended reports of a car colliding with a garden wall and coming to rest after hitting an address on Moss Lane in the Timperley area.

“The driver, a man in his 80s, is believed to have suffered a suspected medical episode and remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. As officers progress their investigation, they are asking for anyone with information regarding the incident to please come forward.

“This includes anyone with doorbell, dashcam, or CCTV footage from around the area at the time. You can contact police via Live Chat or 101, quoting log 816 of 15/12/25. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”

No further details have been revealed.
