Every year around this time, as the tomatoes get plump and ripe, the squirrels and chipmunks start sampling every tomato in the garden. Unless, I take these simple steps . . .

Happy Gardening!

squirrels Andor chick monks have realized my tomatoes are now ready for eating so I discovered this poor little tomato here the bottom of the plant half of it completely gone it’s time for me to enact two things one my spray this is just ground up hot peppers and a little water step two I’m going to pick all of my fruits when they just start to blush and they can safely continue ripening on my kitchen counter so for the spray remember it’s just some kind of hot pepper that’s ground up no vinegar no hot sauce nothing like that just a little water and some ground up hot pepper

  1. My coworker put a net up, and hooks it around some nails until she’s ready to open it. You can water through the net as well she says

  2. Good tips. My lower ones are covered but the one time squirrels ate my tomatoes, they ate only my favorite mater, Hillbilly!

  3. Did this work to keep the squirrels and chipmunks away? I tried it with my bird feeder and they just gobbled up all the seeds… Hot pepper and all.

  4. Thanks for sharing I am going to try this .They have been eating my tomatoes even if it’s still green. The squirrels just took a bite and left it on the ground 😡.
