Dear Redditers,
I found this in my late mother’s gardening supplies. It was filthy, covered in snails, leaves and debris and frankly I thought it had long gone to the big garden in the sky.
I remember it always being in my parents house, all green and vibrant and I’m not sure how it came to be abandoned in her garden unloved. In tribute to her I would like to plant it up so I can look at it and remember her but frankly I don’t know where to start.
The pictures are after it was cleaned, it is open so cannot be sealed and I intend to keep it indoors. I live in the North of the UK, usually in the central belt of Scotland but currently in the Midlands if that makes any difference?
Suggestions please?
Soil type?
Plant suggestions?
Dimensions 23cm across and 36cm tall. Glass and lead.
Anything else that I can do to make a mini oasis in my home in honour of my mum?
Thanks

Those type of wardian/terrariums are one of my favorite shapes and should look really nice once you build it out.

Would you like me to post some terrarium build videos that might help? They break a lot of it down!
