Barton Grange Garden Centre, Birkacre Garden Centre and Towneley Garden Centre were among those mentioned – here’s what makes them so special.
Barton Grange Garden Centre, Preston
A local told Newsquest: “Defo Barton Grange”.
The garden centre is offering late night shopping in the run-up to Christmas. This will take place from 4pm-8pm Tuesday to Saturday until Saturday, December 20.
Its website adds: “Winner of the GCA’s Destination Garden Centre of the Year 2025, Barton Grange has everything you need to bring your home and garden to life.
“Find the highest quality plants, homeware and gifts, a choice of dining options and a farm shop, with the friendliest staff who are here to help.”
A customer shared their experience on Tripadvisor, writing: “Festive season is amazing here. Meeting Father Christmas was a fantastic experience for our 18 month old granddaughter. The staff were really welcoming and made it a fantastic experience for her. The decorations and displays are beautiful.”
Birkacre Garden Centre, Chorley
One local told us: “Birkacre Garden Centre this year! Amazing displays for a smaller centre”.

Someone who visited this year, shared on Google Reviews: “Gorgeous Christmas displays and a lovely cafe. We were told it may be a half hour wait but our buzzer sounded after about 10 minutes.
“We enjoyed two of the baguettes which had ample filling, before browsing the Christmas themed departments, each with their own intricate details, and some with interactive elements. Purchased a glass bauble to conclude our visit which I thought was reasonably priced.”
Towneley Garden Centre, Burnley
