This tree(or several trees?) is growing in my backyard along the fence line, and at the base of a tall spruce(pretty sure it's a spruce). It looks like a beasty and my wife wants to tear it out. What is it and is it invasive? Should we get rid of it? I'm in Upstate New York. The second tree shows it at the base of the spruce. Third photo is some leaf litter near the base of it, though some of it could have come from neighboring trees.

Looks like mulberries. Kill ’em. If trees are growing where they will cause damage, it’s OK to kill them.

I also think it’s a mulberry of some kind.

Mulberry. Male trees don’t produce fruit (if it doesn’t make any berries)
