Hi, it’s Steph and we’re at the Home Depot and it is now October and you know what that means friends? End of season clearance. And here at the Home Depot they have started to mark off their roses 50% off and perennials are also 50% off as well as select trees and shrubs. So let’s go ahead and take a look at the October inventory at the Home Depot. [Music] And the first thing I noticed is this hydrangeanger by Proven Winners. It is the Let’s Dance Sky View. And this is what they call a continuous blooming hydrangeanger. It’s one that will continue to put out blooms throughout the whole season. It is a cross between a macrofila and a serata type hydrangeanger. It likes part sun, can handle some sun. I would say morning sun is best, and it is hardy in zones 4 through 9. It gets to be 2 to 3 feet tall and about 3 to 4 feet wide. And these are in a 2gallon container for $29.98, which means they would be about $15. What a great price. Some dwarf butterfly bushes. These are the Pugster Budlas by Proven Winners and it is a more compact version of the traditional butterfly bush. So this is the pugster periwinkle which is a beautiful purple bloom and it gets to be 2 feet tall and wide. Now I think it can get slightly bigger than that. I would say anywhere from 2 to 4 feet tall and wide over time. Um it is hardy in zones 5 through 9 or down to -20° F. And it is very fragrant. I find that these smell like lilacs to me and they put out tons of blooms. They are a little bit late to break dormcy in the spring I find. Usually around miday, they’ll start to push out some new leaves, but they will bloom non-stop until you get your first hard frost. Butterfly bushes like a very well- draining soil in full sun. If you have them in too much moisture, they can rot and not return after winter. These are two gallon container. Half off would be $15. So many great shrubs to choose from. And the fall is such a great time to plant. your soil is still warm, the temperatures are cooler, which means less pest stress and less heat stress. And you generally get more rain, which means less watering on your part. And this evergreen is a roodendrin. It has these large, broad, shiny green leaves, and it is full of buds for spring blooms. Now, I do find that the deer like to eat these buds, so over the winter, periodically just spray it with a deer and rabbit repellent. Uh, but these are great shrubs for a part shade location. Roden are generally an understory tree, which means they like to be planted under the canopy of larger trees that can offer them a little bit of shade. And these are in a number three container for $44.98, which means they would be 20250. This rodendin is the Minnotonka. It is a part sun shrub with outstanding color. Look at those beautiful pink blooms in the spring. It gets to be 4 to 6 feet in height and needs 4 to 6t spacing. Hardy down to -20° F. Very hardy. and maintain a moderately moist soil. Blooms mid to late spring. And another really popular spring blooming shrub, a forythia. And you can see that this one even looks like it gets a little bit of fall color with the leaves starting to turn red and bronze. This variety is by First Editions. And let’s check out the name on it. It is the spring fling. Now for Cythia, they usually start blooming very early. Here in my zone 6B7A garden around March, and you get these bright yellow shrubs everywhere. That tells you spring is on its way. And they like full sun. They get to be 5 to 6 feet in height, 5 to 6 feet in width. And it is hardy in zones 5 through 8 and has low to medium water needs. And they do have green foliage the rest of the year. A lot of people plant these as a hedge. And over time they’ll fill out. You’ll have a bunch of green leaves and then in the spring they’ll bloom with those bright yellow blooms. And these containers are $29.98 for a number two which means they would be $15. Here’s another type of forthia. This is a larger, more common variety, the Lynwood Gold. And it is deer resistant, gets to be about 10 ft in height, drought tolerant, and also needs 10ft spacing. Hardy down to -20° F. Blooms early to mid spring. And these containers are the Home Depot house brand containers for $24.98, which means these shrubs would be $12.50 each. This is an interesting looking hydrangeanger. This is a big leaf called glowing embers. Very similar to the first editions eclipse hydrangeanger with a dark foliage and rosy pink blooms. It says it gets to be 5 to 6 feet in height and needs 36 to 48 in spacing. hearty down to -10° Fahrenheit. Blooms early summer through fall. And it says it’s a garden showpiece with large blooms, part sun shrub at $29.98 for a number three container. It would be $15. Also have a few spyhea and wila. So the spyhea that they have in stock, you can see it’s starting to get a little bit of fall coloring as well. It is the double play doozy by proven winners. Look at those gorgeous pink blooms. They’re like a fuchsia pink when it’s in bloom. The double play doozy spyhea. It is a more compact spyhea at 2 to 3 feet tall and wide. Hardy and USDA growing zones 3 through 8 or down to -40° F. And it is a part sunto shrub. 4 to 6 hours of sun per day. Colorful foliage, petite shrub, and a relooming variety that is gorgeous. $15 for this one at 50% off. And this wa is the midnight wine by proven winners. It has this dark foliage which makes such a beautiful contrast against all the other green shrubs in the garden. I have the wine and roses that also has this dark foliage and I absolutely love it. So this one here, the midnight wine is a dwarf wila and look at that dark foliage. So pretty. It gets to be one foot tall and one foot wide. So nice and compact. Hardy in zones five through eight and it likes sun and it is late flowering. So it should get some blooms and they are pink. It says that the blooms are pink. Tidy mound of dramatic dark purple foliage which may be accented by pink spring flowers. Lowmaintenance deer resistant shrub perfect for beds and containers. And at this size you can even put it in the front of a border. They also have the wine and roses wila. You can see this is the color of the blooms. They are this really pretty shade of pink. Mine is loaded with blooms at some point in late May. And the pollinators like the hummingbirds absolutely love the tubular shape of these flowers. So the wine and roses wila this one gets to be four to 5t tall and wide. Mine has been in my garden for upwards of 5 years now and it has gotten that large. And you can prune it after it’s done blooming is the best time to prune it because this blooms on old wood. So if you prune it too late in the season, you might not get blooms the following season. And it is hardy in USDA growing zones 4 through 8 or down to -30° F. And it likes sun. Look at that. Gorgeous. This is a number two container and it would be $15 at 50% off. And some rows of Sharon. Now, these are great late season bloomers. This one still has a ton of buds on it. Look at this. So, if you’re looking to add a long season of interest to your garden by adding shrubs that bloom in spring, in summer, in late summer, and in fall, this is a really great late summer shrub. Look at that. Very pretty tropical looking blooms. Let me show you the information on this one. So, this is called the red pillar rose of Sharon. has a pink petal with a dark red center. And the pillar variety typically gets more columnar in size. So it gets to be 10 to 16 ft tall, 4 to 5 ft wide, and it is hardy in USDA growing zones 5 through 9 or down to -20° F. Has a very narrow and neat habit. Heat tolerant and durable and blooms in summer. You can see there in the photo how it kind of grows more compact and upright. Very pretty color bloom. And these are $29.98 for a number two container. So they would be $15. And some viburnums. Now they have two varieties of viburnums. This one here has a really interesting foliage. It has these large shiny green leaves. And look at the fall color. It’s starting to get so pretty. It almost reminds me of Croin, that tropical house plant that they use for fall decor usually around this time of year. This is the Brandy Wine Viburnum by Proven Winners. And this variety gets to be 5 to 6 feet tall and wide. Hardy in zones 5 through 9 or down to -20° F. It likes sun and part shade. It is native, gets fall fruit and fall color, and it also blooms. Look how pretty that is. As the leaves transition to fall, says the Brandy Wine Viburnum’s spring white flowers produce unique pink and blue berries in fall, and the fruit pops against a backdrop of colorful fall foliage, deer resistant and shade tolerant. That is beautiful. Those are the berries. And that is what the shrub looks like. Brandy wine viburnum is in a number two container at half off for $15. Another viburnum with a fun name, the blue muffin. This is an arrowwood viburnum that gets these blueberry looking berries. Look at that. And the blue muffin gets to be 5 to 7 ft tall and wide. It is hardy in USDA growing zones 3 through 8 or down to -40° F. It is also native, no pruning needed, and gets full fruit and has glossy foliage. And it likes 4 to 6 hours of sun per day. So, it is a part sun to sun shrub. Look at that. Covered in those blueberries. So pretty. And it also gets white flowers in the spring. Most viburnums bloom in the spring. And that is what it would look like. Isn’t that gorgeous? In fact, many viburnums like the um popcorn variety and so forth. They get those large heads of white blooms. Many people mistake them for hydrangeas when they bloom in spring, but viburnums will bloom in spring where hydrangeas will bloom in summer. And the blue muffin is in a number two container at half off for $15. I found yet one more variety of rose sharon. This one is called lavender chiffon. It is a beauty. Now it is all buted up and not blooming, so I can’t show you the color, but it is a shade of purple. Believe it has a bit of a pink in the center. Very pretty as well. And they have about four or five here at my store. And this one is in a number two container for $29.98. So 50% off at $15. These have tons of buds, so if we get a few more days of warm weather, you might even get to see one or two of these open up. If not, plant it now and you’ll get to enjoy it late next summer. And a new evergreen shrub by Proven Winners. This is the or holly Castle Rouge. It is a pyramidal shaped holly that gets to be 5 to 8 ft in height and grows in sort of a Christmas tree shape and it only gets to be about 4 to 5t in width. And the cool thing about this holly is that it has this beautiful shiny green foliage, but in the winter it takes on a burgundy hue, hence the name Castle Rouge. Rouge for red. So really interesting. You can see this one is actually starting to get some new growth that also has a bit of a red tinge on the tips. And they have quite a few here. This almost looks like it could have been a new shipment. But they are on clearance. $29.98. They would be $15 for this number two container. And this is a new introduction. So it just hit garden centers this year. The Castle Rouge Holly or Alex. And the roses are also 50% off. Look at that. Now the knockout roses they have plenty of and then they have a few other roses kind of mixed in. But the knockout rose for me is my easiest care rose in my garden. I have the double pink variety and it blooms non-stop for me from May until October when we get our first hard frost towards the end of the month. It is a really lowmaintenance landscape shrub rose. They are generally hearty in zones 5 through 11 and they get to be anywhere from four uh about average of 4 to 5t tall and wide over time. But a really great rose, very uh disease resistant and low maintenance in my garden. I actually have a video that I created on how I care for my knockout roses that I can link below for you to check out. But at 50% off for such a lowmaintenance rose is a really great price. So these here, they have quite a few colors as well. They come in a coral color. They also have an orange, a red, and my variety is the double pink. But you can see here, easy care flowers spring through frost, which is true. And it needs full sun. So, all roses want a very well- draining soil in full sun. Says Hardy Zones 5 through 11, and this variety is listed as growing 4 1/2 ft high by 4 1/2 ft wide. The price on these are $24.98, which would make them 1250 for a number two container. Is the variety I have in my garden, the double pink knockout. I have about five of them planted along my main walkway border. And when they’re in bloom at the end of May, beginning of June, they are so striking. All you see is loads of pink blooms. You barely even see the foliage. And here is the traditional knockout, which is a shade of red. And these actually look really pretty planted alongside purple flowers like salvas and nepidas. And another shrub for late season color, Ailia. Now, a couple of weeks ago when we were here, this was loaded with these white bell-shaped blooms, very similar to the blooms on Wila. There’s actually still a few white blooms hanging on. But even when they’re done blooming, the seepil that hold on to the blooms turn this gorgeous shade of like a coral color that are so pretty. Look at this. So it has visual interest even when it’s done blooming. And it has dark stems with these shiny green leaves. So overall just a really pretty landscape shrub. And the Ailia is also 50% off. And let’s check out the price on this one. These are large shrubs. So, number threes for $26.98. So, they would be $13.50. There’s also a large selection of evergreen shrubs for fall planting that are not on sale yet. They probably will get marked down over the next several weeks. But, if you’re looking to add winter interest to your garden, lots of beautiful varieties to choose from. Now, in the winter when all of our perennials go dormant and our shrubs go bare, it is so nice to have evergreens out in the garden to provide some interest during those cold winter months. The way the snow falls on them, I love evergreens. They’re like the bones and the structure of your garden. So, I always encourage you to plant those in your garden along with your perennials and your shrubs. I absolutely love these. I actually just planted five more last weekend. This is the blue rug juniper and they are a ground cover evergreen. Now, I love planting ground covers because over time you’ll have to mulch less because these will cover the ground suppressing weeds and retaining moisture. They’re especially great in areas that you can’t mow or that maybe you can’t put mulch down because of erosion, right? As a hillside, for example, which is my situation. And so, I planted these three years ago. I planted a bunch of them and they have now grown these really long tendrils and are covering quite a bit of ground at this point. Looking gorgeous. They’re drought tolerant and the deer stay away from them which is awesome. These are in a number three container for $26.98 and they do like full sun. Anytime that you see an evergreen or conifer that is yellow or blue, they will have the best color in full sun. And perennials are also 50% off. Look at that. 550. And these still look great. Look at this. They look so healthy. Nice green foliage. Nothing is burnt or crisped up. Now, of course, inventory and selection as well as sales can vary by location, but I highly encourage you to check out your Home Depots, your Lowe’s, because at this point in the season, things are getting marked down. And it is a great time to buy plants at a discounted price. And it’s a great time to plant. So, winwin. Look at these beautiful cone flowers or echynatia. There are so many varieties to choose from. Sunseekers varieties, the powow variety. Look at this beautiful red one. You can even use this in a fall arrangement and then plant it out in your landscape. My zone 6B7A. This fountain grass is beautiful, but it is not hardy. It is listed as a perennial, but it is not. This is actually an annual grass for us here in the northeast. So, if I were to plant this in my landscape, it would not return for me next season. So, it’s important to be aware of um what is hearty in your zone and what isn’t when you go out plant shopping. It would look great in a container for fall. And at 50% off, 550, that would definitely be a good price. I just don’t think it’s going to get as tall as it could get at this point in October. These hooka are beautiful. I love to use hooka and coral bells. Same thing, hookah, coral bell, um in containers. They make a great perennial for containers. In fact, I’ll be honest. I don’t have the best luck with these planted in ground. They do a lot better for me in containers and in planters, but this one is really pretty. In fact, these together are really pretty. Look at that. Um, these beauties are also 50% off. I actually just bought four of these about 2 weeks ago. Paid $12.99 a piece. And I asked someone to price check them for me because I wanted to see if the Proven Winners perennials were also 50% off. And they are here at my store. This is the Amazing Daisies Banana Cream 2, which is an improved version of the original Banana Cream Daisies. And you can see as they first emerge, they have this really pretty buttery yellow color. And then they go white like the traditional daisies, but they’re very frilly. They have like a double row of petals and very like goodiz blooms. Look at this really beautiful mound of foliage. And the um banana cream 2 is an improved version. I hear that it gets more blooms than the original variety, but really pretty. Here is the information on it. The Amazing Daisy’s Banana Cream 2 is a perennial for full sun. It gets to be 20 to 24 in in height. Needs 20 in spacing and it is hardy in zones 5 through 9 or down to -20° F. Blooms early summer through late summer. So pretty. And what a great find for anyone that comes to this store in the next few days to show you these beautiful sedum that are also 50% off. Look at this gorgeous color. This is such a deep like fuchsia almost like a cranberry color. So pretty. This is a sedum and the variety is the autumn joy stone crop. Look at that. It is deer resistant, drought tolerant, has a clumping growth habit and blooms early summer through fall. gets to be 16 to 24 in in height and it is very hearty down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Now sedums are like a succulent. They have these really thick stems and leaves that hold on to water which means they do not need to be watered that often. In fact, they want very little water. They like to be planted in a location that is full sun and very well draining soil that leans a bit dry. These are also super easy to divide and to get more of them in your garden. And in fact, if you’re planting this out and one of these stems breaks, just strip the lower leaves, shove it into the soil, it’ll start growing roots, and you’ll get a new plant. Super easy to get more plants out of your sedum. And these are a beautiful late season bloomer. I don’t think any garden should be without sedum. The pollinators also really love them. These are gorgeous. And 50% off, they would be 750 for this huge container that you can divide right off the bat into at least two plants. giving you a quick overview of what my store has here at 50% off. So, this here is some yarao. And I love yarao. It has this fernie foliage, these beautiful stems. The flowers are so pretty. They contrast so nicely with different blooms in the garden. I have mine interplanted with cone flowers. They have the same growad, so they both like full sun, very well- draining soil, and because they have contrasting blooms, they coordinate so nicely together. This is the Millie Rock yellow terracotta yarao. Look at that. Achilia is the other name for it. And this variety blooms in late spring through fall. It says plant in full sun and it prefers a well- drained soil. 10 to 12 in in height and 14 to 16 in wide which is great because some of the yarao varieties can get pretty tall and this variety is more compact. Some Goldstrom Blackeyed Susan or Rudekia. I actually have this variety in my garden. It is amazing. So nice and upright. does not require staking. Blooms for a super long time and it is now 50% off at 450. They do like full sun. They’re deer resistant. I don’t find that anything eats them in my garden. And they bloom midsummer through fall, 24 to 30 in in height and need 24 in spacing. Also very hearty at -40° F. And you know what I have them paired with in my front border and they look absolutely gorgeous is with this agastaki or agistache. This is the blue fortune. It gets these really tall spires of these purple blue blooms. They smell minty. The pollinators love them. They also bloom for a super long time. It is gorgeous. So, this pairing the blue fortune agistaki with this blackeyed susan looks stunning together. It’s also 50% off at $4.49. Looks really healthy. This plant likes full sun, very well- draining soil. I find it to be a short-term perennial though or a short-lived perennial. I had some in my garden for about three seasons and then year four it didn’t return. So, I had to replace some this year, but I didn’t mind because I love it so much and I always want it in my garden. Such a pretty one. Yellow and purple are opposite on the color wheel, so they look really pretty together. In fact, look at this yellow cone flower. That would also look really pretty paired with this blue fortune agastachi and some nefopia or red hot poker. We looked at these a few weeks back and they are still looking relatively good. Look at this. They still pumping out blooms. Now, what I love about this is not only is it a really pretty kind of tall perennial that really makes an impact in the garden. Look at that. Planted in mass. But even when it doesn’t have its bloom spikes on it, it has this tuft of green foliage that has a grassy texture. It looks like an ornamental grass even when it’s not in bloom. So, I think it’s a really pretty perennial. Has nice texture. And these are in decorative pots and they’re 50% off for only 750 now. And the variety is called Popsicle. So, these like moderately moist soil, full sun, they to be 16 to 18 in in height. That is the foliage. They get much taller once they have their bloom spikes. And it is hardy down to -10° Fahrenheit, zones 6 through 9. And lots of hosta, different varieties. So if you have a shady garden, hosta are a really pretty foliage plant for shade. And they come with so many patterns and colors on the leaves that it’s a great way to add interest to a shady corner of the garden. So some of the varieties that I see here are Captain Kirk. Um, that’s also Captain Kirk. I see Blue Angel. What is this one here? First frost is another variety. Oh, and in between here, they have one of my favorite ground covers, which is bugleed or buggleed. Someone tell me in the comments how that is said. And I call it auga. And this looks like the black scallop variety. They bloom in spring with these blue spike type blooms, relatively short, about 6 to 8 in in height. and they spread over time to form a carpet. And ground covers, whether you’re using evergreen or perennial, are great for weed suppression, moisture retention, and over time it means less mulching, which is really labor intensive. I’m pretty sure it’s called buggleed. Bronze Beauty is this variety. Look at that. Such pretty foliage. And then those are the blooms that you get in spring. It is spreading. They like part sun and a moist but well- draining soil. And they get only to be 6 to 10 in in height. And spacing doesn’t really matter because they will spread to form sort of a carpet. Hardy down to -40° F. So very hardy. Also 50% off. So 450 for this container. And they have a few here at my store between all of the hosta. So getting back to the hosta. What other kinds do they have here or varieties? They have the sum and substance. This is a real popular one. The leaves are huge and the hosta gets huge. Let’s see how big it gets. 36 in and 36 to 48 inches. So 3 to four feet in diameter. Very pretty variety. Has sort of a chartreuse green coloring. Oh, and they bloom. By the way, look at this. This one has a bloomtock. They have these sort of bell or tulip shaped blooms. They sometimes are light purple like this, sometimes white. And the pollinators love them. But if you don’t like hosta blooms, you can cut them down at the base and just grow it for the foliage. This one still has to open up. Now, hosta things I want to share with you. Two things. Deer really like hosta. So, if you deal with deer in your garden, these are like deer salad. So, you would have to either put them in a protected area where they can’t get to them or spray them with something like a deer and rabbit repellent. The other thing is slugs like to eat holes through the leaves. So, you see that? That looks like it could be slug damage. So, anytime that you see hosta that has a bunch of holes like this, you’re dealing with slugs and they like to hang out on the unders sides of the leaves. So, to kind of remedy that or to keep it at bay, once all of your hosta foliage in fall starts to die back and get yellow and brown, you want to cut it down to a couple of inches. Just leave the stems and get rid of all that foliage and debris. Don’t put it in your compost pile. Just throw it away cuz you don’t want to perpetuate your slug problem. But there is something like the bug and slug killer that are these little pellets that you can put down around the base of your plant that if they eat them, you know, they go away. And so that is one way to control slugs as well. But otherwise, really great plant for shade gardens. More 50% off perennials. These large number three containers. This is the hearty hibiscus. This is the cookies and cream, which was a new variety this year. Now, these are plants that can tolerate a little bit of moisture in your soil, and they get these really large tropical blooms in my garden around August. So, they are late to break dormcy in spring for me, usually around May, and they don’t bloom until August. So, if you plant this right now in your garden and say next May, it’s spring and you’re worried that it didn’t make it through the winter, just wait a little longer. They’ll usually start popping up right when you start to lose hope because they are late plants, at least in my experience. But, another really great perennial. These are a perennial that you only need one because they are as large as a shrub. And this hearty hibiscus is $24.98. So it would be $12.50. Another 50% off beauty is the sedum by proven winners. This is the coral jade sedum. Look at this rock and grow coral jade. It is a stunning shade of pink like a very light coral pink coloring. Grows in a mound kind of rounded habit and gets quite large. So, it is shorter than it is wide. It gets only about 16 to 18 inches in height, but it needs about 28 inch spacing. 28 to 30 in. Hardy in zones 3 through 9 or down to -40° Fahrenheit. Blooms late summer through early fall. And these are $24.98, so it’ be 1250. And you can definitely divide this into a couple of plants. Look at this. You even have a bee taking a nap. I found a tag for that hearty hibiscus, the cookies and cream that we looked at earlier. This is what it looks like. It has a really large white bloom and darker foliage. And here is a macrolet type hydranger that I’ve been eyeballing all season long and it’s finally coming home with me. This is the eclipse big leaf hydrangeanger by uh First Editions. And you can see that it has this really dark foliage and it gets these large heads of rosy pink blooms. Look at that. Isn’t that so beautiful? Look how it contrasts so nicely with all of the green in the garden. So, this one gets to be 3 to 5 feet tall and wide. It likes morning sun, afternoon shade, and it is hearty in zones 5 through 9. Good for cutting, medium to high water needs, and dark purple foliage. I am so excited. So, this one is coming home. I’m taking this one. It looks the fullest. That’s usually what I do when I look at the hydrangeas. I look at the one that or any shrub really that has the best shape and that still looks in relatively good health. And so these here are $29.98 for a 2gallon container. So it would be $15. And some more panacle hydrangeas. Now when you’re looking at these, see how this one has really crispy leaves? This one is still hanging on with some green leaves. You can take a look at this and you can do the scratch test on the bark by just scratching a tiny bit and you can see that there’s green in there. You see that? So, if there’s green, it’s still alive and fine. If it’s brown all the way down, I would pass. So, this one, take it home, strip off all of these dead leaves like this, and just keep it watered. As soon as you get it in the ground, make sure that you regularly water it, and it’s going to be just fine. These are really resil resilient plants, hydrangeas. But this one here is one that is relatively new here at the box store. In fact, I didn’t see it all season until right now when it is on clearance. And it is the puffer fish. It’s very similar in my opinion to the Bobo, which I do have in my garden. So, this is a panacle variety, which can take more sun. It is hardy in USDA growing zones 3 through 8 or down to -40° F. Gets to be 3 to 5 ft tall and wide, which is the same size measurements as the Bobo hydrangeanger. And it says it is a petite shrub, cold, hearty, and abundant blooms. This fly agrees and it wants four to six hours of sun. Now, I will tell you that my bows get a little crispy if they don’t get enough water because they are in full sun. So, I would say these probably do better in a morning sun, afternoon shade situation with um adequate water. Okay? They want a moist but well- draining soil. And look how pretty that is. So pretty. And these are a two gallon container. $15. They still have at least three of these puffer fish available here at my store and a couple of the limelights back there. So, look around at your store, friends. There is still lots of good stuff to be found. Now, if I were to take this puffer fish clearance hydrangeanger home, not only would I strip the leaves like I talked about, but I would also prune it to about half of its size. So, take off some of this top growth. That way once you plant it, your hydrangeanger can focus on developing a new root system and establishing in its place before winter instead of having to support this top growth. A couple more singleton hydrangeas that I just spotted. The tough stuff aha. And this is a pretty compact hydrangeanger as well. So you can tuck this anywhere in the garden as a single hydrangeanger. 2 to 3 feet tall and wide. And it is hardy in zones 5 through 9 or down to -20° F. Again, it says sun part shade. In my experience, these macrofila type hydrangeas, this one is actually a mountain oseratada type uh yeah, a mountain type hydrangeanger. They do better with morning sun, afternoon shade. And this one here is a wee bit giddy. And it looks like the blooms are going to lean towards a rosy pink color. It’s a big leaf hydrangeanger that stays pretty small, only 2 feet tall and 2 and 1/2 ft wide, and hearty in zones 5 through 9. And it also likes sun, part shade. It says it’s a petite shrub with vibrant color and a reliable bloomer. It’s first time I’ve seen this one, the wee bit wee bit giddy. No pruning needed. Half off on these as well. Well, that brings us to the end of the October clearance inventory here at The Home Depot. I hope that you’ve enjoyed checking out what my store has in stock, and I hope that you can find some of these plants and deals near you. Thank you so much for spending your time with me and I’ll catch you in the next one.

  3. Hi I think the dead-looking plants should be more than 50% off we are the ones who have to recover the ugly the other plants are alright for that amount

  4. Could you possibly offer a Landscape Design Suggestion? I have a new Pool Fenced area that's basically 20' ft Long & 5' ft wide facing South/West (so basically Full Sun) Area that needs some Beautiful Landscaping. It's basically a long, straight strip of grass currently that is just a part of our grassy yard. I'd like to plant some Beautiful things that are Low Maintenance, with some Evergreens as well. I've always wanted a Cottage Garden, which is my favorite Garden Style, and I Love Hydrangeas as well. Also, Pink, Yellow, White & Green would be my colors of choice. I live in Zone 7. Anyway, if you could make any recommendations or suggestions I would definitely appreciate it so much, especially with these new Clearance Prices you're sharing us🥰Thanks so very much for all your wonderful videos ♥ I Love Your Channel

  5. Could you please do a video about overwintering plants like these in their pots please?

  6. Ajuga is commonly called b-you-gull weed like the musical instrument. The blossoms are trumpet shaped. I really enjoy your box store tours! Keep up the good work!

  7. You’re a 100% correct about the potential growth of the Pugster Buddleia. I planted mine the end of last year and it’s huge! I’m so glad I allotted space for a four foot plus plant and growing!😳

  8. I picked up a couple of Hakonechloa Aureola Japanese grass and euphorbia (miner's merlot) at my eastern WA state Home Depot yesterday – but they were full price. Still a good deal…! Also – I have an Eclipse hydrangea too – you will love it!

  9. I love watching all your videos. I have to say I always get frustrated with our Home Depot and Lowe’s after these videos. Ours never come close to carrying the selection of plants yours does and we have large stores. Our Home Depot was especially disappointing this summer and fall. But I enjoy your content very much.

  10. Question could I plant a forstyia now zone 7? Or keep it in the pot til after winter 😊?

  11. Hi Steph, I have two Wee Bit Giddy hydrangea's which do really well for me here in SE PA. The color is the same as on the tag and I'm very happy with them. It took mine about three years to get to their full height/width and maybe even be a little larger (I haven't measured them). Looking forward to visiting our Lowe's especially to see what tulip and daffodil builbs are available.

  12. Hi Steph 🌺 . I enjoyed watching this great video of your tour of the Home Depot Garden. All the plants look so beautiful.the color of the hydrangea you chose for your garden looks amazing . Have a wonderful day. 🌺🌻🍁🌻🌺

  13. Question Steph: I have a big patch of ivy on the side of my house that I hate. I want to put a large square planter in the middle with an evergreen and plant seasonal things at the base. I don't have the planter yet and thought this would be a Spring project. Can I buy an evergreen now and keep in its pot until Spring since they are on sale now or just wait and buy one in the Spring?

  14. Wow I've never seen Blue Fortune at Home Depot. Maybe I'll go tomorrow. I'd put those everywhere!

  15. Steph, I hope this isn’t creepy, I am your neighbor in Plymouth. I have been searching for the Let’s Dance Skyview, and nearly fell of my feet when I saw them in this video. Would you mind terribly sharing which Home Depot you saw them at?? I can pop down tomorrow and see if they still have them. I understand if you don’t want to share the info though. Either way, thank you.

  16. Our Home Depot garden center is small and doesn’t have the selection you are so lucky to have. Really enjoy your channel and learning from you.

  17. Hi Steph! Thank you so much for your videos, I really enjoy them 😊
I admire your patience and ability to grow so many of your plants from seeds. I usually grow a thing or two from seeds and even that feels amazing!
Just a side note: those “buds” on rose of Sharon are seed pods.

  18. You're so fortunate to live in an area where Home Depot discounts plants. I live in Central Florida where HD does not discount any plant any time. Their prices are ridiculously high and plant selection is limited. Lowes does discount plants every week that are past their prime but still in good condition. Walmart is the usual mess. It discounts plants that have completely dried out and are unsalvageable.

  19. hi, thanks for sharing. love your home depot. they always have some beautiful flowers. ours is not as good as yours. this is the best time to plant and love the cooler temps. hope you have a great weekend.

  20. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how many plants the Home Depot is on sale! I’m going over there tomorrow to check things out. Thanks Steph. Have a great weekend.🌷

  21. Yay for fall sales! I picked up 3 Artic Fire dogwoods and some perennial groundcovers at 75% off. Wished they had some evergreens, but looking forward to enjoying the red branches of the dogwoods this winter.
