Location: Eastern NC, USA
It's a very large and wide tree with oval pointed leaves, its december now and it still has It's leave so I'm assuming its an evergreen? It does not bear fruit or nuts
Could be Willow oak. Mine hold onto their leaves longer than other oaks

It’s an oak. I was leaning towards Quercus laurifolia, but it might by a hybrid of laurel and bluejack oak (Quercus x atlantica). Not finding acorns isn’t too unusual, oaks have mast years where they produce a ton and other years where they produce nothing.

Bay Laurel. You can use either fresh or dried leaves to flavor foods. Just remember to remove the leaves before serving.
