Southern Ontario. I have just harvested pods from my redbud tree. There is a mix of plump seeds and flat black seeds. Can I assume the black ones are not going to germinate and discard them-see pic. I am going to winter sow them shortly using the usual milk jug method. Do I need to scarify them/boil them or what is the best approach since they are going to be cold stratified over the next few months.

With this small number of seeds I’d just sow them all and see what happens to be honest
