Wall Township, NJ – A brush fire that broke out Friday afternoon near State Highway 34 South and the Garden State Parkway has been fully extinguished, officials said.

The blaze, which ignited in a wooded area along West Eighteenth Street, prompted a rapid multi-agency response and temporary traffic disruptions in the surrounding area.

Motorists were urged to avoid the scene as fire crews worked to bring the flames under control.

Traffic returns to normal after fire contained

By late afternoon, Wall Township officials confirmed the fire was fully extinguished and that traffic was returning to normal. The area had experienced significant delays earlier in the day as crews from the Glendola Fire Company, South Wall Fire Department, and New Jersey State Forest Fire Service worked to contain the blaze.

No injuries or property damage were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Local departments praised for swift response

Township officials thanked the responding fire departments for their quick coordination and effective suppression efforts, which prevented the fire from spreading toward nearby roadways or structures.
