When I said worms…I didn’t mean the earthworms. I love my earthworms!
I never thought I’d find a surprise like this in my container garden! I love seeing the local wildlife thriving in my Texas garden, and today was no different. I try to support the natural habitat of my backyard, and it’s so cool to see the garden birds making themselves at home. @GreenStalkGarden
In today’s edition of what the f is growing in my garden, I came out to water my green stockck plants and they look fabulous by the way. But I was met with this surprise here, which is a bird egg. And I’m annoyed because I know me. I’m going to let nature nature. I’m going to respect the overall ecosystem of things because that is what you’re supposed to do as a responsible gardener. However, I did stop and like reflect. Yes, I reflect over a bird egg. Even though they have wrecked havoc, they have like destroyed several of my tomatoes as well as fruits. At the same time, I’ve hardly had any like worms or caterpillars on any of my plants. And I attribute that credit to where credit is due 100% to these little guys here. And so, even though I’m raising the next generation of rascals, they are at the end of the day welcomed frenemies in my garden. So, I’ll keep y’all up to date with this little guy’s progress.

So jealous of your yard and plants!!!
Consider those tomatoes their payment for acting as pest control 😅
if you leave birdseed or a birdbath out, especially bird seed with pieces of discarded veggies and fruits from your harvests, the birds might not go after the fresh plants as much, but will definitely still go after the bugs.
Girl so true.
❤😊
Cover your tomatoes with those mesh drawstring bags they use for wedding favors. Maybe leave one tomato uncovered for the birds ❤
But you should want worms..they are just as important for gardens as bees are.
To clarify, when I said worms…I didn’t mean the earthworms. I love my wormies! 🪱
I cannot lie I’m subscribing for bird updates🤣but I love gardening aswell
You're so pretty. First thing I thought when your video came up.
I love the logic. So a few years back when I first got my dog. He had scared most of the starlings I would have in my 2 acres of land. And when I tell you because the birds weren’t there it was a mess… girl the tick population went from almost none to having ticks everywhere. We couldn’t even use the yard.
Birds are great helpers. Now squirrels 🐿️ lol 😝 they are naughty lol
Thays a robin egg
Using the F word to start your videos is enough to stop watching. Really disrespectful way to communicate to others. I'm out!
It's a balance, they get some fruits and veggies to keep the plants healthy from pests for you ☺️. I make sure to let the birds get a little share of blueberries and strawberries from my yard, they love them
LOL why do I need to see you in a princess top and garden pants just chillin in nature?😅🤣❤️ much love!😂❤️
You want worms. Netting keeps birds off your plants. Get some praying mantis cocoons . They will help your area
I started out years ago growing alot of sunflowers. I leave the heads for the birds. Not only do i have hardly any pests in anything, they leave my fruit and veggies alone and i never have planted sunflowers again because being so messy means they do all the planting. The bees cross polinate ans create new sunflower colors and rhe birds plant them for me. I now have hundreds of sunflowers pop up all over but they behave and only stay in the corners of the beds or edges so i have planty of room inside my beds for what i want to eat. I think between the sunflower seeds and the bugs they pick of my veggies they have no need for my tomatoes or berries. Birds eating tomatoes if they have other sources of food is usually for the water inside. So i always have a water source for them, the bees and butterflies. It's helps.
I don’t like birds because they ruin things. But they also help keep these specific things in balance so it’s okay.
So we agree, we get rid of the critters that harm planets and then also get rid of the birds. Simply put, nature is obsolete. We can handle what they do better than them. But rather than implement these things we feign that we care even though we are slowly killing off specifies by the day. House by house.
A give and take type of world ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🌹🌹🌹
It looks so cute in your planter like its ready for a photo shoot

You also do not want to tick of a mockingbird. For something so small, they hold grudges for life.
That's only one egg. My chickens will do ANYTHING to get up on the deck to lay an egg in the potted herbs. They're liking the sage this week. They have beautiful, clean, nesting boxes.
They usually lay in the nesting boxes but then one will get a wild hare and only the herb pots will do. Grr.
Aww,don't put it/them out. They keeping ur garden clear of pests. You can make a friend as well
I felt bad after I tossed an egg out of my potted plant after those birds took over my pots and made nests. They looked at me like, "What, and?" 🤨
I went looking for the egg, but it was too late.
If I ever encounter this situation again, I will try and find another way to deal with it rather than letting my frustration get the better of me.
They are doing you a favor. I'd happily sacrifice a few tomatoes (which you'll get a ton of) to naturally kill pest. Your garden is blessed 😊😊
Girl, me too a whole nest😂😂😂
'Credit to where credit is due.' Yes😂 helpers can be annoying, but I think of them snacking on my tomatoes as workers comp😊
This year I'm decided to cater to the birds. I set up 4 bird feeders and 2 bird baths. This is the first year that cabbage moth catapillars and grasshoppers didn't destroy my crops.
I see you got a bird egg n ur pot
'welcome frenemies' is a great way to put it!
