the beginning of September is not doing well. All right, let’s look at my favorite garden. This is the only squash that I know of. Look at this. That the plant dies completely back in the winter. And guess what? It comes back on its own by the roots. One, two, three, four, five. One, two, three, four, five, six. Six pots. Point where your finger is because I there. Oh, I got to do this quick. They’re saying we’re gonna have a big rainstorm coming in. We’ll see. They’ve said it before and it hasn’t come in. Hi, it is Robbie from Southern California. The beginning of September. Wow. In a few weeks, we’re going to be in fall, autumn, but we’re going to continue to grow if all goes well. This is my field of turmeric with a little bit of ginger. Now, I’m going to have to say that the ginger is not doing well. As you can see, look how skinny it is and wimpy. We have not had the proper weather for this. We’ll see what happens next year, but right now it’s not doing as good. As long as it still grows, I’ll still have the ryomes on the bottom. But right now, now the turmeric is making a big statement here. Look how big some of them have gotten. Can you see how tall they are? And that’s packed with turmeric. Now, turmeric to me right now is the most important thing to grow. And I have learned so much on turmeric this year that I had no idea about that I will share with you in a separate video because this is what actually is helping me physically. Turmeric. So, though I could break into these right now, I don’t want to touch them. It’s kind of silly, but I’ll get into that another time because I know a lot of you don’t grow turmeric, but for me, that’s going to be one of the biggest. Now, this is just one place I’m growing it. It is now turned into the biggest place I’m growing it. And I’m looking at this table thinking, you know, it’s really not in the way. I actually end up with this table that we found in the trash. Gary threw it in the back of the truck. It’s stable. I can walk completely around it, as you can see. and um good height for me to stand and do what I need. When it comes to harvesting, you know, I use a wheelbarrow for that. But I am debating if I’m going to do more turmeric. I don’t know what I’m going to do with the table or move it. But right now, it’s all going good. That table’s packed. Can’t put any more. That one’s packed with a few geraniums. Some of them I grow, you know, start them from pieces. So, I’m propagating them. And I have noticed, I don’t want to stay on this because I know a lot of you are not interested. See how it’s greening up? That’s because our nights now have been in the 70s. When our nights are in the 50s, this is what you get when it comes with ginger. Because ginger is so tropical, it wants warm days and warm nights. What we’ve had is like warm days and then going into cold nights and it shouldn’t have been that cold. And that is hindering a lot of these plants. Turmeric is also tropical, but it can tolerate the cooler nights. So, this one was tucked away. See how yellow it is? It was in between all these plants. There’s another one back there. It’s not getting enough sun. So, I’m trying to move the ones that are a little yellow forward. See how that one is white back there, too, because it’s so shaded with the pepper tree. The other one’s got tall and they’re reaching the sun. So, I pulled that one out and I’ll probably end up pulling another one out. All right, enough with turmeric. you’re not interested. Look at this. So, this is the original. You remember Gary found this in the street? The horse manure. This he’s been picking up. This is llama manure. We know somebody that raises and shows llamas and she fills up buckets and calls Gary and says, “Come get them.” So, he’s using this in his garden because I don’t use a whole lot of this. And then he is spreading the wood chips that we just got. If you go back, you’ll see a few weeks ago, we we had a truckload come through the driveway. Now that I’ve moved all the totes, at any given time, somebody can drive by. And it was an unexpected drop off. The guy just came and said, “Hey, I’ve got a truckload.” Gary said, “Yes.” So, as you can see, he’s been spreading it all over the ground. Now, remember, you’ll have to go back in time and look at a lot of older videos. This is all hard clay. You see here what our soil actually looks like. You can’t grow a thing. That’s why I’ve had neighbors come to me, “How are you growing? We can’t grow here.” But you can change your environment by simply dropping on witch hoops if you can get it. And they’re free. Believe you me, they want to get rid of it. Do you know it costs them here to go to the dump between $1 and $150 to drop off wood chips after a job when they’ve taken down trees? They’re so happy when they can find somebody that will take it. So keep that in mind if you’ve got the space because I will say that’s a small load. When you call a big company, they have bigger trucks. It’s a major load. So you may have to have it dumped somewhere else and brought over, but it’s really hard. I’ll have to do something on wood chips soon because years ago, and I’ve got all the videos, Gary had rebuilt his truck in the back with panels so he could go pick it up from a guy. That’s a long crazy story, but that’s how it all started. We couldn’t garden before. Not with that clay soil. It was going to cost us a fortune to use potting mix from the store. And that’s already broke down. I want living soil. Look at this. This is my avocado tree. I’m getting ready to think about propagating. Not propagating, I’m sorry. Doing grafting on this. I mean, this would be a good thing to experiment, though. It looks really cute. And this is my sage. It’s been here for years. Look how nice it looks. So, this has been great. And then, of course, I’ve got the nectarine tree. I’ve got well I had two bags of nectarines in the freezer. I’m almost done with one. I make ice cream out of it or homemade ice cream. I have one more bag and I’ll use that in the winter. And then I’ve got my apple trees and I don’t know if I’m going to try to graft on them or get some other trees in here. But this is what I’m excited about. A field of garlic chives. And I thought, wow, if I can have garlic chives growing here, why can’t I make a field of walking onions? So, I’m going to dig this out a little bit, move all this over and try to see if I can get walking onions all along here because normally if they get to the ground and they have some water, they’ll grow. And we did take out the pomegranate, it grew back. And I think we’re going to keep it. I think I am going to keep it. I’ll keep it trimmed. Maybe I’ll make it look more like a tree because I do have an apple tree there. And we’ll see what happens later. All right, let’s look at my favorite garden, the chair garden. something anybody can do. Easy maintenance. You don’t need a watering system. We cannot put any irrigation watering systems here because one way or another they don’t work. You get too many times they plug up and you don’t know it until the plant is dead. We have squirrels that love chewing on it. We have coyotes that chew on it, rats that chew on it. And some people think they’re looking for water. They’re not. They’re exercising their teeth. And when they find something that is nice to chew on, like a baby, what do you give a baby when they’re teething? Those rubber hard rubber toys that they chew on. Well, that’s what they’re doing. They’re exercising and chewing on them. And once they find them, you’re done. You can’t do anything about it. So, it can’t work here. I have too many friends and neighbors in the areas around here that have put in watering systems and they’ve lost it all. They’ve lost their plants. They’ve got chewed to pieces by coyotes and rats and squirrels. So, the only other way of doing it is copper. And some of them have changed to copper because that they generally won’t chew on. But boy is that expensive. You know what I do? Layering. You know, we’ve had a heat wave. We’ve been like 100° and I know a lot of you have lost your plants. You don’t need to. If you look, I’m layering all through here. See the pots? You go, why are you growing in totes and pots? because it holds water. I’ll do a separate video again on that. I keep doing it. It holds water and then creates shade. Here’s a cana. Look at this cana in here. It is growing here. It’s going to create shade for my plant. And this one’s trying to make a comeback again. It’s a squash plant. I just picked a yellow squash yesterday for dinner. I’ve got squash there. That one may be fizzling out. We’ll see. But layering is what helps the plants retain water. And that’s why it’s doing so well. I’ve gotten so much squash out of here. But tomatoes has been unreal. Oh, I’ve got a strawberry flower. Look at that. I tuck in all kinds of stuff in there. When you put pots, you don’t have to just grow one zucchini in there, one squash, one pepper plant. You can grow a whole bunch because you’re creating many gardens within a tote and you’re hoarding water because all those pots. Anytime you lift a pot up, there should always be dampness under there. See how dark the soil is? It’s going to hold the water. So, if you remember that, you can do a whole lot. Look at this beautiful a purple tree colored. Isn’t that gorgeous? All right, let’s keep walking around because I think I do feel this storm coming in. So, here’s the truck bed. I let it go wild this year. I’ve got some fig leaf gourd growing. I didn’t plant it. This is the only squash that I know of. Look at this. That the plant dies completely back in the winter. And guess what? It comes back on its own by the roots. So, you don’t have to keep planting it. I’m just not crazy about it. I should actually pick that, chop it up, and put it in the freezer. So, if I run out of zucchini that I froze, I can use that because once it’s big, it’s harder to handle. And you can store them. Boy, Gary’s got some some fig leaf gourds stored for years in his garden, and it’s going to be many years because I just don’t care for it, but that’s personal preference. Then, I’ve got my pomegranate tree here, which I’ve got pomegranates on. There’s a couple left up there I’ve been picking. Oh, it is getting windy and looking nasty out here. And I’ll tell you something, if we get a good downpour, these plants are going to love it. Everybody’s going to love it. The birds are going to love it. The plants, the insects, everybody because it’ll just wash everything clean. So, we’ll see if we get it. Got the geraniums in here. I’ve got some maragolds, the pot maragolds that they’re kind of fizzling out, but they may make a comeback. Got a lot of weeds that I don’t want the weeds. So, what do we do with weeds? We grab the weeds. There it is. And we put it back and let it dry up. But the Swiss chard will grow in there. The celery is going to make a comeback. I should chop all the seeds down. I don’t need it. I don’t even know what this is. It came up. I moved it here because it was in that pot. It looks like cucumber, but it’s not. It doesn’t look like a squash. So, we’ll have to see what it is. Maybe it’s something exciting. Maybe it’s nothing. All right, let’s keep going because I do feel this coming in. Got tomatillos all through here. My zucchini. I could have refreshed it with new plants, but they’re doing it’s it’s still growing. Oh, there’s a zucchini. See, it’s a good size. I’ll get that one off later. But look at all the tomatillos. Now, this I love to freeze. I’ll get those later. So, that came up on its own. The tomatillos tend to come up on their own. The seeds are so tiny. At the right time, usually at the end of summer, they start to grow like that. And then I get a whole bunch of celery. The plants, like I said, are fizzling out, but they’re still growing fruit. I don’t want to handle it too much. A spike. See what the plant did? It split off back here. And it’s like a whole new plant. All new flowers down there and everything. Wow. So, we’ll see what happens with that. There’s the garlic chives. There’s walking onions, tomatoes on the ground. More walking onions. And this probably has some fruit, but or if not, it will soon. There’s green sorro in there. I just left this. The crows or I should say the ravens come in here and they dive bomb this. I don’t know if they’re looking for hornw worms or tomatoes. But if they’re only going to bother this section and leave everything else alone, you give to nature something. So it works out really good. Some red vein sorrel. See here’s walking onions on the ground. So here it’s very bare. There’s a little bit of wood chips but not much. I’m thinking I’m going to make some areas because really very few things eat it. One year I had a squirrel that decided he loves walking onions and he was eating it. But I haven’t had it lately. So I think I’m going to make a little field since I’ve got so many walking onions. This is just kind of wild now. Swiss chard. This is all the wild. But there is milkweed in here. But it’s layered in a pot. So I can move that at any time. So that’s perfect. You can load pots all over the bottom. Just make sure you still have space that’s open around the pots. So the soil underneath and everything can breathe. But I’m going to kind of go through this later on and see what I’m going to do with that. I kind of lost track of what I was saying. Milkweed. That one can be moved. This one’s in the tote so it can’t be. I’ll leave it right now cuz I really want to end the butterfly garden probably here. Though I could leave one tote there. Kind of figuring out where I want the butterfly garden. I still have onions in here I’ve got to get out. But you know what? They stay so fresh in here. And then when I pull them out, I’ve got nice onions. See the onions? And I use this. Look at the celery on that. Let me move this out of the way. Isn’t that gorgeous? That celery did really well. I never picked garlic. I’ve got garlic in here with the nesters and they’re still in there. But I picked one and that was it. More onions I believe are buried in here. I pick them as I need them. See, there’s an onion. I went through all my red onions. I think I’d like to get more onions growing. And then here I never got to. This is where I hurt my back. Was working on that a couple months ago. I think I tried to lift that red tote. Probably cracked it. And then all of a sudden I I threw my right side of my back out that immediately within a day threw my left hip out probably the way I was walking. And that kind of slowed me down on moving heavy stuff. You know how I like moving things around. But see, I’ve got to collect all these. They’re all over the place and they’re falling. So, what I’m doing is I’m throwing them places and hopefully I will remember to come back and get them and get them planted. It is getting really windy. See, it’s all through here. So, I’ll come back later and get them cuz even these teeny teeny ones will grow. But, I never got to that. That will be a project maybe for the winter. So when spring comes, I can have all my cucumbers and everything taking off. I have been using a lot of Malibar spinach. So I could always grow more Malibar spinach. Eggplant. We’ve picked eggplant in here. Then we’ve got all the milkweed for the monarchs. This is the butterfly garden. Starts at that tote, the black one, and it goes all the way across. And it stops right now there. Because I’ve got milkweed there. I may extend a little bit. It’s not It’s not like it has to be a certain way, but look at all this. Boy, our weather is changing quick. Got the orange mint here, the Mexican sage that Gary brought home. Somebody gave him. Boy, that little piece took off. It’s everywhere now. I’ve got two big pieces. See the one that’s there? We’ll see it in a second. And one there. And he’s got it in his garden. I’ve got it in the bird garden. Got a tomato plant that’s going crazy. All I want to do is stake that thing up a little bit and get it off the ground so I can have it maybe all winter. It will hug the wall. Malbar spinach, which is here. This comes up on its own. Now, once you’ve got it, it does like water. See all the pots in here? As long as it’s wet, it is a happy plant. And I put that in my green drink. So, I have been using that a lot. I don’t like cooking with it. A lot of people do. Not my thing. In the green drink it goes. So, I’ve got some more. Look at this turmeric. I didn’t know where to put the pot that time. Little bit of the milkweed. This is a weed weed. Any weeds I just pull out and just put them back. So, I’ve got everything layered. See how many pots I have in here? One, two, three, four, five. One, two, three, four, five, six. Six pots. So, I can take one tote and grow garlic chives, maragolds, turmeric. Oh my, you’re kidding me. Yep. I’ve even got a look at this, a pomegranate plant in here, which could be picked up and moved. And then I’ve got milkweed. You’ve got everything in there, but they’re independent, but they’re putting their roots in the bottom where there’s soil, too. So, everybody’s happy. Look at all the Malibar spinach on the bottom. Just letting it do its thing. Again, layering. This is what saves my plants. A lot of you ask, “How are you growing in the summer against a hot block wall?” Well, first of all, it’s not really that hot. There’s soil behind it. So, it it is warmer in the winter for some reason than the summer, but that’s how I’m layering through here. And by putting the pots, every pot can only evaporate through the top. And then on the bottom, there’s always going to be water. Kind of think about that for a while. And we could do a separate video and show it and explain it, but it works in here, too. All this is pots. And I’ve got all different things. Pots, pots, and pots. Now, the avocado tree came up on its own. It was way down there. But look at that. Everything else is in pots. And that and in here, pots. See all that? All that mint. I’ve got a brassica in here. I think that’s a can of Look at this. Everything growing in pots. It creates that layer effect of holding water even at 100°. And that’s what the plants need. The most important thing for plants on hot weather is water at their roots so they can pull it up as needed. This watermelon plant, as far as I know, has never thrown a watermelon. It looks beautiful. Hold on. Oh, it’s kind of late now. Now it’s going to throw watermelon. There could be one hiding. Oh, whatever it does, it does. I’m going to leave it. Tomato again. I’ve got a pot in here. This is a native milkeed. I’ve got pots that are even milk cartons and they were growing lettuce and the birds ate the lettuce seeds. I p purposely left it for the birds. And that’s basically it. Then I’ve got the cars. They look a little sad. I need to go through and clean them up like I did in my bird garden. We’re getting a lot of tomatoes. Are they going to make it through the winter? I don’t know because these are I they’re more of a determinant. So, we’ll have to see. That means they throw all their tomatoes and the plant can die back or it could burst into new growth. So, I’m not sure what those two tomatoes will do. But, boy, we’ve probably gotten at least a hundred because Gary keeps picking between the two. Gosh, I can’t believe the weather. Look at that. that will be moved too, but something came up and I don’t know what it is. So, I was going to move it and I thought, yeah, I’m going to wait. I want to see what this is. And then this is just Malibar spinach. So, for now, it’s not in the way. We’ll leave that one, but I got the rest of them out. That’s just a bucket of water to water some of the plants that we’ve got here that we did not plant yet, but I’m working on it. So, that’s what’s going on here. Let’s take a quick peek in the front yard. Oh, there it is. I don’t even remember how I got there. I told Gary this morning. I can’t find my coffee cup. I must have come out here and sat here and I forgot. In my hand, put it down and I’ve been looking all over for it. Okay, you found my coffee cup. Anyways, look at all this. Now Gary’s telling me, “Let’s chuck it.” And I said, “No, no, no, no. The hummingbirds love the flower.” So, I’ve got to find a place for it because he said he doesn’t need it. And I’ll show you where it came from. That’s just still milkweed and geraniums and there’s some red vein sorrel that’s doing exactly what I want it to do right now. It’s very hard to grow squash and stuff here due to the pine trees. It shades most of the day. But this is what he cleaned out. Is that not pretty? He cleaned it all out. Oh, he put back put back a little mint. Oh, that’ll be entertaining. And then we’ve got this. See all the pots? He pulled everything apart and put it back. Look at that. You didn’t even know what was in here. There’s even a brassicoat winding through. I think it looks really neat and clean. He was going to get a silver ring from Home Depot or Lowe’s. You know, like the trough. I said, “No, I kind of like this.” He built this. Yes, he built it back in 2008 or something. He had the strap and he screwed on all the wood and painted it. I said, “No, don’t get rid of it. In fact, I might drape over that cracked piece. Maybe I’ll swap it or put a little bit of something there and put the mint there. But look how nice it looks. I told them, “No, don’t scrap it. I like it.” And then I’m still growing tomatoes out front in a dish pan. Ooh, that almost looks like hornworm. Now, I do have the Oreos still here and they do check. So, we’ll see. But tomatoes here and the rest I never got tom. Some turmeric here. Just simple things. And then the garlic chives. There’s my turmeric there. And see how wimpy the ginger looks. It didn’t get the proper weather. I’m trying to find a microclimate in the yard. So when I go to set it up next time in the spring, I’ll find a better place cuz obviously the microclimate there is not good anymore. Like I said, these trees have gotten so massive and they’re so big. So the sun comes up there and it just sits there and then it gets a short amount of sunlight there but quickly shades the area. Before it got morning sun when the trees were shorter and not as full. The turmeric is surviving fine. It’s a little yellow still. Maybe some of them aren’t getting as much sun. Notice how nice this looks. And this is getting a little bit more sun because it drops down quicker there. But here it gets more sun. So, this might be the place to move some of them. But that’s the thing. You’ve got to look around your yard, your patio, your deck, wherever you’re growing, because every inch is a microclimate. Every Oh, look at this. This just came up. See, our weather was different and it wasn’t doing well. That’s ginger. Very good to see. Maybe I should put all the ginger here so it’ll get a lot of sun, but then it will drop in the heat in the afternoon. Plus, our days are shorter, too. 8:00 it’s dark. Before it was closer to 9. So, every little bit makes a difference. But this is this is new. And Gary told me he’s got the same thing in his garden that his ginger didn’t come up and all of a sudden it is now, which is odd because by December they’re done. Okay, good to see. I didn’t see that. Is there anything in the other one? Hold on. No, just a turmeric coming up. See the pink steak? I put pink for turmeric and I put these in for ginger. Okay, so they are starting to come up. Some garlic chives got in here. But the these are weeds. We don’t want all this. Oh, there’s a little bit of red vein sorrel. I’m take that out later and replant it. Oh, now I got a little bit of sun. So, that’s what’s going on in here. These, you saw me do this a while back. So, these are doing really nice. I still have that last one to do. And this is just kind of fizzled out. Oh no, it didn’t fizzle out. This one got eaten by a squirrel. But this was a big tree color and it was just so big. Composted a lot of it. And then that one is growing in the black top. Remember this is black top and he put a layer of wood chips here years ago. So that’s growing right there. Black top and wood chips that broke down. All right. You know what? We can pretty much almost wrap this up. No, we’re not close to wrapping it up yet. Let’s go through those gates into the bird garden. So, we’re in the bird garden, and yes, I have been working on things. Finally, I’ve gotten to the left side where I’m kind of situating different plants. Look how pretty. I even have a tomato plant back there. Look at that. Doing good after it got chewed up by something with a fancy geranium down there. So, that’s doing good. And I’m slowly trimming some of the dragon fruit. And then I put this hanger, the clothes rack, I painted that finally green. So, I’ve got some feeders there. And everything here on the wall is doing really good with those old totes. They’re like 9 years old. And then the upside down planters. And look, I even have peppers in there along with mint marolds. I mean, I’ve got a little bit of everything. I put the marold there to protect the pineapple sage. It was getting too much sun now as the sun is moving over. But isn’t everything really cool? Going through things, moving things around. I love when they’re in pots. That’s my new black beauty geranium. But I’m moving things when they’re in pots. If they were in the tote or in the ground, you couldn’t move the plants, you know, when the weather changes. There it is, painted green. I could do another coat, but you know, it literally took me 15 minutes. It’s done. I love those clothes hangers. If you need a place to hang something, I’ll try to get the link underneath so you can see it. I buy them from Walmart. They’re like 10 bucks, less than $10. And I’m growing some seeds here finally for the birds in that tote. And there’s my blanket flower, which I’m propagating a ton of stuff off of. And this is where the birds feed all day by the thousands. No joke. And I’m constantly putting seed out. We’re growing seed now. Water, which is so important. You put water out, you will bring the animals because that is so important to them. But look at this. all these pots that I can move, propagate from, make free plants out of. That’s why I love growing pots. I’ve seen people set up gardens where it looks like it’s beautiful and in the ground to find out that nothing’s in the ground. I’m going to go ahead and take all that I move from the other side of the yard. It’s going to go into that old green tote that’s also about 9 years old. I’m going to grow, I think, a broccoli in there because the broccoli’s already in a pot. So, I’ll move it there. Hopefully, you’ll see it in two weeks. This is u a blanket flower I went ahead and propagated. Those are all seed heads. I’ll get those clipped off so the plant will get bigger. And this is, you know, everything going. Look at this. One minute the sky is blue, then it’s gray. Zoe loves this garden. This is really the safest garden for her. I have never had a coyote in here, though I still have to supervise her when she’s out here. This is starting to break apart. I think this one’s starting to fall. So, I’ve got to get a lot of cutings off the tree collarded because eventually it will kind of fizzle out and I want to get the plants as many as I can. And they’re good and straight. That’s what’s really good about it. Then you see I’ve got garlic chives growing in there. And I love my lemon verbina. See how that looks like a tree? That’s the small one I bought at the nursery. I’m hoping to get it shaped like that one. They get really massive. Great tea out of lemon verbina. Now, this I’ve been trimming down and look at all the new growth on that. So, I’m going to finish this in the next few days. I’m going to take all the sides off and let it, you know, grow all new. And I’ll probably do it to the other side, too. There’s two tomato plants in that trough. And they did well. I mean, I must have gotten 500 tomatoes off of it. Now, Gary put this up to strap the papaya plant. That one has been going down. It’s probably not going to last more than a year, but he went ahead and put those posts in and strapped it to keep it up. Then here’s the old totes, too. I got those a long time ago. Oh, those are the plants he bought. That’s the gak fruit that we had shipped in. So, he’s kind of wired them up. He’s going to take care of them till they’re ready to go out. They’re not ready yet. And then, look, I propagated in here. This is the red leaf uh curl curly kale. And then I’ve got hummingbirds lunch in there. I’ve got all my mint and my moringa is doing fantastic. I keep feeding it compost tea. It loves compost tea. I thought that plant was on its way out. And this is just a little place where I kind of do things here, too. I’ve got lettuce. More propagating in here. But look at that. I can move the lettuce anywhere I want. There’s a lot of pepper plants. They’re not supposed to grow here. I just don’t know where to put them. So, I’ve kind of left them here. It’s a good place because I always check them and water them. There’s the new geranium. It’s the bunny’s lunch or something. It’s called the carrots. It’s a carrot one. And then there they are. They’re getting old. They grew in a taupe, but they’re still hanging in there. I’ve got to get more papaya growing so I can kind of retire some of them and get new plants in there. But this is one of my favorite gardens because it’s just so full of nature, birds, and everything. Is this not beautiful? This is the place I like coming in the morning, having coffee, hanging out. Look, the citrus trees are doing fantastic back there. I try to hit them with water off and on while I’m watering this garden. Looking really good. Just a nice place to hang out. All right. Well, I’m going to go into the rainbow garden, but I cannot take Zoe with me. That is not a safe place for her because she won’t listen. And when I call her, she won’t come. So, she’s going to have to stay here when we do the rainbow garden. Sorry, Zoe. Now, we’ve stepped out where the rainbow garden is. This has turned into a butterfly garden, and I’ve got to change that for next spring. But I’ll work on it all winter. And we’re not even in fall yet. I’m talking about winter. But look at this. Look at the flowers I’ve gone everywhere. Oh my goodness. I’m bursting in the color. But I’m going to admit there’s a ton of work that has to go on here. Now, my potato mint is doing fantastic. Kept this covered. See, with the irrigation tubing, I made the cover. The rabbits didn’t eat it because the rabbits love potato mint. But this potato mint is doing great. Then I’ve got Malibar spinach. Anywhere I find it where I don’t want it, I’ve been dropping it in there. So, I’ve got a pot there, a pot there, and even another little pot there, and then it’s going up. Again, I use that in my green drinks. Then, I’ve got parsley. See how I’m layering everything? I’ve got peppers. This is all fairly new. I think this is a piece of geranium that’s not doing good. I can put something else in there. It’s an eggplant. You know, this leaf is not doing the plant any justice. See the spots? It’s not going to get better. The new leaves are nice. I’ll leave that. Then, I’ve got peppers starting in here. This will be great for the fall, all through the fall and hopefully into the winter. Here I’ve got peppers in there as well. And then a tomato plant. Doing good. Got that staked up. Then I’ve got another pepper back here. I don’t know how good this is. It’s an old pepper plant. But right now, I’m just keeping this for the hummingbirds. That’s hummingbirds lunch. I can take a lot of pieces. See, it breaks really easy. See how it all I have to do is touch it and they break. When I see a plant do that, I know that means it can be propagated because if a plant breaks, that’s probably its way of spreading the plants around. So, keep that in mind. Anytime you touch something and it breaks that easy, try to stick it in soil and you probably can grow it. Then here, I’ve got papino on the top. That’s the one that I was layering. I put it in a yogurt container that I painted. Well, the roots went into the bottom. Look how big the trunk is. And it’s gotten really big. I’ve gotten fruit off of that. And then I’ve got a pepper here. This is an old pepper from last year. This is a new one in a pot. See? Layering. I haven’t gotten to those yet. That one’s trying to make a comeback from the bottom. Also old and broke. This broke and I taped it up. Yes, I taped the plant just to get the last of the peppers, which I did. Gary harvested. And then this is just news growth that I struck in there. In other words, I’m propagating off of other plants. I’m taking pieces of this off the um the papino and then I’m putting it in the pot. This is a weed. I put two pieces in there. This one doesn’t look that great, but you never know. But this one’s doing really good. I am very pleased with that. Look at all the new growth. So, I’ll have a new plant growing down there in a pot. The other thing is layering like that. You don’t have to go and refurbish everything. you just put it in a pot, throw some leaves and different things around the pot. It will break down as well and continue the cycle of feeding the plant. So, that’s what’s going on here. Look at all the seeds. You wonder why I have so much milkweed. Wow, those are those horrid little bugs. They’re so colorful, but there’s just so many. I should show you how to eliminate insects without ever spraying any insecticide. I haven’t done that yet. Maybe one day if you’re interested and you got insects that you don’t want to spray because we don’t spray anything. Let me explain why. We’ve got all the birds in the bird garden and they come from the bird garden. They come in here and they feed on a lot of insects. All sprays, anything that’s even organic, if it’s going to eliminate insects, it could be harmful to a lot of other creatures as well. So all this stuff that says, “Oh, it’s organic, but it’s not going to hurt you.” Well, that’s fine, but it’s going to hurt birds. So, I can’t take a chance. I never would because it doesn’t make any sense. If it eliminates, it eliminates. That’s all there is to it. And then I’ve got another geranium here. I’ve got some potatoes in there. I’ll harvest that later. I’ve got harvesting I’ve got to do. Look at all the tomatoes. I’ve picked all these and all green tomatoes are growing back. It needs a good grooming. I haven’t done that. And then this really should dead head them because it’s still flowering the zenas. But I collect a lot of these. Like when they get really brown, there’s nothing that’s got seed. Yeah. See the seed? Oh, why do I have zenas coming up? I collect them. And the other way of doing it, do I have it here? Yeah, I do. Here. Sometimes I take them off before they’re ready and I just stick them in a pot. See? And just let them finish drying. And then I end up with more seeds instead of bagging them up. So that’s there’s a lot of different ways of collecting seeds. I’m going to let the flowers do their thing. This squash plant fizzled out. So I put this pot here cuz I’ve got a tomato plant growing. I don’t know if it’s going to have tomatoes or not, but it’s also got a lettuce in the same one. So I left this for the birds cuz they’ll come eat that. Then I’ve got Zenos in here. And this is the papino. So I’ve got a papino. I’ve got an old purple cabbage I stuck there last year. It’s kind of stunted, but it’s still alive. I want the papos. So, we’ll let the papinos and we’ll let the flowers do their thing. Aren’t they gorgeous? I’ve never had so many flowers before. And there’s a papino. See, that one should be picked. That could be picked now, sliced up, and put in a rice dish. So, if I’m stir frying, that’s where that goes. And then here, this is all potato. This is Betamment here. Okay, I really don’t want that much. Uh oh, some rabbit took a liking to that. I’ll probably trim these out. There’s potato. This is just peline. See a layer of peline. I can leave that because it’s layered. This is nothing. And then this has got a mirrorold, but there’s my bet. And this is another Oh, this is Oh, this is Zena. I thought before it was possibly a milkweed, but nope. That’s a Zena coming up. So, I’m still I’m always working. So, I’ve got buckets ready to go with leaves and different things to keep potting, but I’ve got to harvest all this. I should have potatoes in there, potatoes in there. That one’s pretty much done. This is tomatillos that came up. That was a funny story. I told you, I think last month. I brought this over like I do here, full of wood chips and leaves and different things from the ground. And I thought I had potatoes in there. I never planted potatoes in there, but this came up. And I realize I’m looking for potatoes, but there’s no potatoes. Let me see if I can give this a little more room there. So, now I’m going to have tomtatillos here, too. See, all this can be harvested. These these potatoes are done. So, I’m sure there’s going to be I don’t know what that is. Okay. It’s going to be underneath the potatoes. And that’s a tiny potato right there. Yeah, it will all be underneath. I’ll have to harvest that later because they died back. This one’s not ready yet. I should uncover it. I got to be careful because the rabbit eat all this. A ladybug. And the ladybug is doing her job. And that’s the problem. Even if I spray an organic spray on here and it’s non-toxic and organic, it will kill your ladybugs. And then if something eats any of these bugs, it gets into their system. Really? I’m not into any type of spray. H. There’s another interesting probably bug we don’t want, but oh well. We do have the birds go through here and they pick all these bugs so I don’t have to take them off. These are getting close to being harvested. They’ll die back and I’ll go through all those. And then more milkweed. And then this is got pceline in here. And there is Oh, there’s Malibar spinach coming up. But that also has potatoes there. And that’s it. And then here’s the small dog kennel. Not much going on. I’m going to refurbish all this. I’ve got lettuce. I’ve got down there a turmeric, geraniums, tomatoes, thyme that’s been in here for over a year. And then bits and pieces of stuff. I’m going to come in here, set this up for the fall and winter. But I’m still harvesting all the lettuce I want. Look at that. See all the lettuce back there? Even in milk cartons. And then there’s the dog kennel. Oh, this again. Just going to leave all this. I still have squash growing in here. And when they’re done, they’re done. I probably So, there’s a baby squash on the bottom. Oh, there’s a couple of them in there. Three of them in there. Cool. I have froze a lot of zucchini. So, I think I am good for all winter. And then I’ve been freezing my cucumbers. I’m so excited. I just went through yesterday. Oh, it got smooshed. It’s amazing how strong a tomato can be. Look how a little tomato is pushing the wire. Do you see that? The strength that a plant has. Oh, that’s not good. Actually, you want to know something? Plants can break wire. So, you got to really be careful. But boy, look at that. We just ate our second watermelon last night, and I think there’s two more left. I was hoping for 10. It looked like I got four, but you know what? I’ll take the four. It’s better than nothing. This I will have to sit down and talk to you about because I have learned a lot the first year of growing in here. The good and the bad. I’m going to have to tell you something cuz I have no video. I was going to make a video on this and it’s been sitting out here there and I was going to show you what happens to leaves and then last night the rabbit came and found my lettuce. I could leave it here. is not going to go there. And I thought, well, there’s my video. It’ll come back. But there’s no soil in here. And that’s what I was going to tell you all about that. So, that’s gone. But I still have the lettuce. And I got a happy rabbit. All right. So, I’ve got celery in here. I’ve got an Let me step in here. This one’s too yellow. It’s not doing good. I got an eggplant. Look at the tomatoes back there. Doing really good. Got all the tomatoes. That plant’s doing good. There’s a cucumber. Jerry loves these. These are munchies. These taste really good. I’ve got more cucumbers back there. Can you see that back there? Got a lettuce in a Look at this. In a juice container. I left the label on so it keeps it dark. It worked out really well. Plus, it’s up against the black pot there. And then let’s see. Not much in there. This is more lettuce. I should move this into the bird garden. Lettuce seeds. I like I said Oh, here’s the other one. We were looking for the other one yesterday. Hey, another cucumber. I’ve been picking them as fast as I see them. Like, I’ll probably pick that or the other one. There’s cucumbers all through here. So, cucumbers were late this year. There’s another one. You know, it’s funny. Cucumbers hide. They can be right in front of you and you don’t see them. I was concerned because I wasn’t getting cucumbers. And look at the peppers. Is that not cool? This little plant has got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine peppers. Wow. One little plant. And it didn’t even cost me anything. I bought the fruit from Walmart and I grew all the peppers and they’re good. Oh, Gary loves them. Okay, I showed you that cucumber. So, as I was saying, I was concerned because I wasn’t getting any. It was the weather. But boy, now that the weather, it’s been about 70 at night, 68 to 70. The cucumbers have taken off. So, I am very pleased. I want to show you this before we go on. See, I’ve got a pot here with nothing in it. See how the peppers are growing? And just Well, there’s more than there’s probably 10 peppers on here. This again is holding water. So, if this dries out during the hot day and this soil gets dry, this is going to have water underneath. I don’t know if you know what I really don’t want to disturb the plant. I’m going to leave it. Sometimes the plants end up putting their roots in there, but layering is the big thing about keeping plants alive and the heat because there will always be water under these pots. Now, this is fairly new. It probably won’t have anything. But see, it’s always going to be wet underneath. So, keep in mind if you’re having issues, maybe layering. Now, the watermelon plants are still growing. Oh, well, maybe I’ll get a few more watermelon. I’m thinking it’s too late, but we’ll see because I’ve had watermelon mature in 30 days. So, that’s possible. Got a butternut squash there. Will it make it? We’ll see. And then I’ve got in here. Now, this is all Korean melon, right? Yes. And that tends to ripen closer to November, so we’ll see how that goes. It’s starting to crawl up among my tomato plant, which really needs good stringing. This is going to be so easy to string up. All I have to do is tie here a piece of yarn and then string it all the way across there and it will pull it up against the the wire wall. So, it’s going to be fantastic. More peppers here. The flowers. This is one happy pepper plant. Look at this. And Gary comes out here and he asks, “Can I pick?” Yep. This is not for show and tell. You pick. Look at that. These are big. Let me see if you can see. Look at the size of those peppers. Look how big they are. Isn’t that beautiful? And they’re on the sweet. Oh, there’s a little piece of Oh, turmeric. Not real happy there. It’s kind of dry. Hold on. Might have missed that last night. But it’s coming out. Probably was a turmeric skin cuz I grow a lot of turmeric from skin and if I’ve got pieces, I just stick them places and if they grow, they grow. And I don’t know where that tomato is that’s pushing the wire. But I definitely want to find that because it is strong enough to push it out and I don’t want it to mess it up. But here is where I’ve been picking cucumbers back here. Oh, wait a minute. I just saw something. What did I see? Hold on. I could have sworn. There it is. There’s a watermelon here, too. That’s coming up from Where is that coming up from? Hold on. Is that from the bottom? Oh my gosh. I’m not sure. I planted watermelon everywhere. I think it’s coming from the bottom in those little pots. So, those pots, I’m not sure, can uh put their roots down. Oh, look. There’s another squash back here. I didn’t see that right there. See that right there? Cool. More flowers. So, that watermelon’s coming up. It may end up throwing a watermelon. I have to make sure I get those pots well watered. That’s important. And then, like I said, this is where I’ve got the cucumbers. This is where we’ve been picking the watermelon. I still have this one. Do I sling it? No. This is sugar baby watermelon. These plants are designed to really hold on to their fruit. I picked the one that was there. We picked the one that was there. Super sweet. There’s still one back here growing. So, I’m going to leave that. And if it grows anymore, it does. And then if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. So, maybe I will end up with the watermelon I wanted. This is po. Gary loves this. He comes in here and picks papo. Look at peppers. And more peppers. And another cucumber. I have picked so many. I’m freezing them cuz I make a cucumber drink that I absolutely love. I don’t see anything up there. But see, I see the problem here. I can’t do this with you. I have to make sure it doesn’t try to go through cuz then it will hinder the plant from growing. And like I said, I keep picking. There’s another cucumber. Yeah, I went through here and I thought I wiped them out last night because I’m freezing them in the method of which I want. See how they’re hanging on to the top? Another cucumber. Here’s another one. Love it. Yeah, I was concerned because I wasn’t getting cucumbers, but like I said, it was so cool at night. Did I show you this? Cuz I just saw this. Okay, that one’s kind of stuck. Uhoh. No, no, no, no, no, no. Okay, I got it. It’s It was growing in between. Okay, I did not see that one. Is that another one? No, that’s just a leaf. Okay, so I was concerned. But I got my cucumbers. I’ve got enough frozen that will last me for months. So, because I don’t make it every single day, a cucumber drink, though. But boy, could I drink it every day. So, these we eat cuz they’re munchies. Those are pickling cucumbers that I was showing you in there. Gary’s not crazy about it. I don’t know why he says he’s not. He just doesn’t like pickling cucumbers to eat. I do. I’ll slice them up, put them in a salad, but they make a great drink. So, I’m taking those and I’m freezing those. I’m not going to pickle this year. Too much salt and I’m going to stay away from a whole ton of salt right now. And I’d rather have a drink because pickling is fine. You take a little bit here and there. Isn’t that beautiful? But I just like um I just like having the drink. It’s so refreshing. It just gives me a lot of energy. So, that’s it. So, I will come out here and sit here and explain all the good and the bad on this because as I started and thought I was doing something great, I found that I was doing something really, really bad when it came in here and it hindered the plants. So, I got a setback on that and then the weather set me back. So, I’m learning as I go because I have never grown this much stuff in a dog kennel. And there’s different ways of setting it up, too. So, I have a constant supply of different foods. I’m going to do that. So, that’s it. We’ve walked all over. If you’ve got questions, please throw the questions underneath because it makes me think, yes, that bird is trying to out sing me. Hear them. That’s a ren. I don’t see them, but I sure hear them. But throw the questions underneath and your comments. I love them. I sit back and I read them and it will give me an idea what you want to know. Do you want to know about my silly little cucumber drink? Do you want to know on, you know, like what was the good and the bad, though? I’m sure you do. I did show you that, right? Cuz I just noticed this big cucumber here. It probably is the one I showed you. But sometimes you walk back here and you look and go, “Wait a minute. I didn’t see that from the inside. Isn’t that cool? Here’s tomatoes.” So, throw the questions. gives me an idea of what to do. But hopefully I can get to this pretty soon. Now, I was, like I said, the monarchs were coming in here like mad. This is getting old, and you don’t want to leave a lot of the milkweed old. So, I will be chopping it down. Once I chop it back, I can pull them out, put them in pots like that one’s growing in the bucket, and move them where I want them, and get my vegetables back in here. I’ve got the papinos growing in there. I had tons of tomatoes. Can’t complain on that. There’s still walking onions in there, but a lot of this there’s papinos in this, too. I wanted to grow other things, and that’s what I’m going to do. But I’ll get those out later on, and then this will be more organized. So, either way, it was still going good because we have had a ton of monarchs flying around here. Get the questions and I’ll know what you want me to kind of veer towards, what will help you to garden more or give you ideas. And my most certainly if you’ve got comments to help me always drop those questions or comments under there and sometimes I go, “Yeah, that might work. Let me try that.” So with that, have a wonderful day. You know what? I know a lot of you say, “Wait a minute.” She always says she’s leaving and she’s I wanted you to see this, which is frightening. This is the papayas that I planted in there. They all made it. This is the papayas I haven’t planted yet. This is where they came out of. and they’re still alive. I don’t know what I’m going to do because that’s like 50 papaya plants that I don’t know what I’m going to do with. So, I wanted to show you that they’re doing good. They’re protected from the heat, but yet they’re in their own little, you know, medium in their climate that they like, and they’re doing fantastic. But in the winter, I can kind of get it open a little bit more. And we’ll see how that goes. See all the lettuce growing back there? I’ve got that old gourd, which is not a gourd on the top. That is an old zucchini that dried out. And then my pizza garden has now turned into a full herb garden. So we’ve got all different types of mints. Here’s the skins from turmeric. See, I take them and put them in pots. They’ll grow. I can transplant them later on in the spring into bigger pots and they’ll grow. This is skin. I’ve got sage. I’ve got this is holy basil. I don’t think this is holy basil. This might be holy mint. He’s got two different ones. That’s Gary’s. And I thought it had a tag, but I Yeah, there is a tag. Let’s see what it is. Oh, I’m sorry. This is not This is Thai basil. Okay, let’s put the tag there so we can see it. And then I’ve got regular basil, but that’s Gary’s. He didn’t get to plant it, so he told me to take it now. Peppers in these lifts that I make. I love these stands. Doesn’t cost much at all. You can get these flower pots at a florist for free and make stands. And then I’ve got oregano. I’ve got more sage. I’ve got rosemary. I’ve got thyme. This has been fantastic. So, it’s it is a pizza garden as I made the colors themed, you know, for pizza years ago, but it really is an herb garden and it’s doing really good. So, now with that, have a wonderful day. I’m going to get in and go have breakfast. And now it’s clearing. That’s what I said. I said, “Oh, big thunderstorm we’re going to have.” Well, doesn’t look like it now, but we’ll see later. So with that, have a wonderful day and don’t forget to eat what you grow. Even if it’s red veins sorrow. Bye-bye. Do you see there’s a tomato that’s going to bust the wire? What do you mean? Oh, yeah. The fl Okay. Where? Point where your finger is cuz I down there. Oh, this one. One next to it. There’s one behind the I can’t get back there. Hold on. Hang on. I got it. Did I got it? Yep. Oh, good. Okay. Because boy, I’ll tell you something. I can’t see you. It actually bent the wire. They’re that strong. Yeah. Well, remember they put things in molds to shape them. Okay. So, I got it. So, it’s no longer Okay, good. That’s all I want to do. Thank you. Yeah. Take take that one. Like I always saw this say, this isn’t for show and tell. This is for us to eat. Is that beautiful? Those are those free Walmart peppers. Aren’t they gorgeous? Yeah. Look at the size of it. I know. Good size, that one. And they’re all over the place. We’re going to have hundreds of peppers. I haven’t even frozen it yet cuz you keep eating them. But that’s good. Okay. So, that’s for breakfast. Okay. Perfect. You might as well take some of these tomatoes, too, because I’ve got so many bags now frozen that I think I’m done with freezing tomatoes. I’m just trying to get the most. That one’s right. Yep. That should do, I think. Yeah, cuz I don’t know what else you need. You did forget something. Let me get past you and get out. You wanted po. Yeah, I’ve been harvesting the po. Oh, this one. This one? Okay. So, you didn’t have to go all the way back. Okay. You just took some. Where’s the other one? Further back. It’s right there in the watermelon tote. Yeah, because the cucumber, if you look at this one, I’ve taken a lot of the leaves off and I want it to go to seed a little bit. Okay. All right. You’re going to get more. Yeah, I’ll get more. I’ll get this one. Well, that’s the one you’ve been harvesting from. No, not not this one. You’ve never harvested from that one. Look at how many leaves are on it. I thought you’ve been harvesting. No, you take all you want. No, I I would have been harvesting more. I could have sworn I did tell you. You might have forgotten. You told me, but I didn’t know where it was except Yeah, it looks like a nice tree. It actually shades some of the plants in there. Yeah. I don’t like it. I love it. I know. Well, more power to you. Okay, I’ll let you keep going.

  1. Woo hoo my favorite show is on 🎉 I really look forward to seeing what you're doing in the garden 😊 I had my fingers crossed for the rain too! Sadly, we didn't get a drop either 😢 Let's hope we get some soon!

  2. Hi Robbie! Please share more recipes and more vids of you cooking and making your healthy yummy drinks! I really enjoy it when you cook as well as garden. 😊❤ Thanks for teaching us so much! You both are wonderful 😊

  3. Thanks Robbie, enjoyed the garden tour. Goodness the plants look lush. 🌷🫑🥦
If you send us rain, I’ll send you heat. 😂It’s averaged 85 degrees at night in Tucson Estates.
They are promising cooler weather soon so I’ve planted seeds for a fall garden. Wlll you start new fall/winter plants?

  4. Robbie thank you for sharing your wonderful gardening advice. So interesting that through the years, we learn from trial & error. I thought I was growing some beautiful tiny orange sweet peppers from seed but saw that our CatBird family 'planted' jalapeños after eating all the orange peppers. Time for the tulle covering.

Question? Strictly organic but have a dilemna. What would you do if the squirrels enjoy your gardens & have their own food area? They were afraid of the red tulle & red feeders but still dug up everything from the grape vines to the herbs & ate all the hot peppers as well. Even put hot sauce out but they ate it all. 😅
Blessings and love to you and your family. Sherry 🥰 🙏❤ 🫑🍇🍅

  5. I'm interested in TURMERIC!. Please make a video all about it.
I just about spit out my drink when I saw the BBQ bird fountain 😂😂. You are sooooo creative! Your garden looks great with the recent wood chips.

  6. I scored something recently — maybe it will work. I wanted some fall bush beans here in N. Calif. but I didn't have bush variety of seed. I went to my local store that sells bulk food and bought pennies worth of several kinds of organic dry beans (for cooking). I had read that most of them are bush variety because its easier to commercially harvest bush variety. They germinated well and I'm planting some for fall. I'll let you know,.

  7. After I saw the video where you harvested all your pots of turmeric, I decided to try to grow it. But mine did not grow at all. I'm in San Francisco. Is it too cold here? Should I try it as a houseplant?

  8. Please share all of your recipes. I could use a review on turmeric. I am in zone 7b. Turmeric doesn't winter over in colder climates, does it? I loved seeing all your plants. Love you bunches ❤❤❤❤❤❤

  9. We had some thunder and rain overnight, last night. I slept through it all, having had put the air conditioning on. It was so warm. In the morning is was really humid, the air felt thick. I’m up in Northern California.

Is there anyone who abides by a Heart, Kidney, and Bladder healthy diet?

I was recently hospitalized for kidney stones that required surgery. I’m embracing this lifestyle change, I especially love tumeric! I used to use it to make our own face cleansers, etc. Turmeric is full of invaluable health benefits!

  10. Hi Robbie and Gary! Thank you for sharing your garden with us! I am definitely interested in your cucumber drink and learning about freezing cucumbers and using the cucumbers you’ve frozen. Muncher cucumbers are my favorites and I grow them every year. We just eat them in salads or slice them up and eat them raw or with dip. It would be fun to get some new ideas about using them. Have a great week! ❤❤❤

  11. Hello Robbie and Gary try to cook ivy gourd with brown sugar or panela and some cinnamon sticks in Mexico we eat as a dessert or make a drink called agua de chilacayota we also toast the seeds for a snack. Also gour d is candied and here if you can find a way to sell them big ones go for around 10.00🙂have a blessed day love what you do

  12. I really love going with you on the tour of your gardens. It's like surprises all around. The use of the dog kennel is great for the vining produce. I am wanting to know the name of the tall plant at minute 27.40. It looks like a brassica, but I can't guess what it would be. I'm in TN & you have so many plants that I don't see around here. Happy gardening to you & Gary.

  13. I'm very interested in growing turmeric. I've been informed by my nursery that I have to bring it indoors for the winter. It will die back but begin growth next spring. I'm in southern oregon zone 8b

  14. It’s my first year gardening here.

I am wondering if I should compost my tomato plants ? The nights are getting cool ( mid 50’s). The tomatoes on the vine are not turning red anymore but I have so many left waiting.

    Thoughts ??

  15. I am interested on how you use the tumeric for your health. I have a big bag of ground organic tumeric powder, and I put a spoonful in my dog's food because he has achy legs, but I don't think it tastes great in my coffee. How do you eat it, and mask the taste? Also, if I grew tumeric in a 6b zone, where we get winters with snow, do you think it would grow inside? I think it would die, outside.

  16. I would love it if you did a talk on your cameras.
Thank you for all the new ideas and how to maintain a tote garden.

  17. I am very interested in tumeric. Mine started to grow maybe 2 inch. And promptly died. We are stuck at 100 degrees right now. Probably for another 2 to 3 weeks.
My chives are blooming too. So pretty. And easy!!

  18. I dug up some of my turmeric and try to eat it raw like you said it was so bitter I couldn’t stand it and I got a smaller piece and it was tolerable, but that’s about it. It was still bitter. What do you do to keep it from being bitter is that the type of turmeric I have

  19. Please show us the spray that helps against bugs!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Because WE have BUGS!!! 😮😱

  20. Dear Robbie, brought 2 tomatoes plant, made sure they had water, and my son had a big Tomato plant to, and no tomatoes. What did I do wrong. I have them in my big pots on my pouch. I don't know if it is weather. Never happen before. Love your garden and videos.. Thank You both. ❤️🙏❤️

  21. LOVE all that you share! The good & the bad! You help us in more ways then you can ever know!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I use the irrigation tube, tulle, totes, buckets & layering. We’ve been sharing the abundance with a lot of friends & family. If you get a chance…GROW Centercut squash!!! I’ve gotten 3 to 4 a day! Every is getting tired of it. But I think it’s a good thing, At least they not going hungry!

  22. I would love to see you make a Cucumber drink and how do you freeze cucumbers I've never heard of that Can you please do a video on freezing cucumbers and bell peppers

  23. Hi Robbie…love your video's… I watch you daily… you share a wealth of info… I started a chair/tote garden this year…any suggestions of what to do when it snows? I live in Idaho…thanks, Patti

  24. I would love to ask how you deal with white fly and fungus gnats . white fly are sucking the life out of my tomatoes. Are you putting the holes in the bottoms of the containers now Robbie not leaving a reseviour by putting holes an inch from bottom ?

Love your videos Robbie and yours too Gary, both of you have done an incredible transformation of that property and seeing all the birds loving it there is priceless. Your bird photography is great Robbie I love seeing your beautiful bird photos.
    ❤ from ozzie girl

  25. How do you get all the hummingbirds coexisting at the feeders? I have 3 possibly 4 hummingbirds and two feeders out and they constantly chase each other away. Rarely I see two of them perched and drinking at the same time. I did get to see mama and baby at the feeder. Any suggestions would be great, thank you.

  26. I'M INTERESTED IN TUMERIC!!!. I planted it this year because of your channel. I need more guidance and advice. When do I harvest? I would love a video on tumeric alone!

  27. It is finally cooling off here in the Sonoran desert so I need to get my dog kennel garden going. Please do a video on the good and bad of growing in the dog kennel. I have the 4 x 8.

  28. Yes! Please have a complete seed to harvest video on turmeric! 😊Ginger and garlic as well. 😊Thank🎉 you

  29. A question I've always wanted to ask you when you put the mesh around the containers like that, does the aphids and mealybugs or any other insects get inside?

  30. I know the totes need to be #5 but what about the black containers you use to layer and you plant in that go in the totes. Do those have to be #5 food safe.

  31. Yes I won't to know about all your drinks. What plants I can grow and use for drinks. I do love cucumber and carrots and berry drinks watermelon and apples. But I want to know more great stuff to make drinks What herbs ginger etc 🤔 I love seeing people my age gardening and using everything they grow to eat and make drinks I just love you both a sister and brother I have added to my family thank you Lisa for Chattanooga Tennessee. ❤❤
