firstly i apologize in advance, i have no idea what angles to take pictures from that would show it the best haha.

anyway, i just repotted her and literally had to cut it out of the old pot because of all the new root growth haha. i was going to put it into a slightly smaller (1” i think) pot but there wouldn’t have been any downward space for the roots and it may have been sitting too far up for my liking.

should i try the other, smaller pot or is this okay for her to grow in? the soil mix is pretty well-draining from what i’ve noticed but i don’t want to take my chances with root rot!

A pot 2 inches bigger than the rootball is ideal. From what you described it seems like you should definitely just leave it as is. Another repot after just buying it may cause to much shock, especially in winter.

  2. No, it’s not too big – tbh, I would’ve chosen a pot 1-2 sizes larger. With proper watering and lighting, it can feasibly outgrow that pot in less than 6 months.

  3. Good size. Orchid pot also helps the roots breathe. Well done.

It’s fine but keep in mind it is very likely your plant will spend the next few months growing roots and you won’t see anything happening at the top.
