The application seeks full permission to build the court at Tesco’s Shire Park headquarters in Haldens, adjacent to the existing Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).

This would finalise the creation of a dedicated sports and recreation zone on the business campus, adding to the playing surface and Timpson pod which serve the site’s 5,000 employees.

With the development, Tesco is aiming to supporting employee health, wellbeing and social interaction.

The plans would also see associated floodlighting and hard and soft landscaping works carried out.

Additionally, the application’s Operational Statement assures the proposal “will not generate additional car or transport movements” and “will not alter or increase parking demand on site”.
