Gardeners’ World host Monty Don took to social media this week with an announcement that left fans all saying the same thing as they rushed to support him. The BBC horticulturalist will be part of YouTube channel Inside Outside throughout the winter, after the BBC show halted until spring. Fans missing new episodes each week will instead be able to catch Monty and his gardening tips on the platform.
The channel wrote in a joint post with Monty on Instagram: “Even in December your garden can thrive… sparkling with twinkly lights, festive berries and evergreens. Be inspired by Monty Don and other familiar faces on Inside Outside this month.”
The site streams free in the UK on Rakuten TV, Samsung TV Plus, Virgin Media and LG Channels.
Fans were impressed by the news, with one gushing: “Looks gorgeous! Love all his gardening/travel series, books and podcast talks.”
Someone else said: “Monty is a shining light in the gloom.”
While a third social media user penned: “We love you in the USA! How do we watch?” and another American begged: “United States? We love Monty too!”
Viewers were left in tears after Gardeners’ World was pulled off air for the winter, with the last instalment for 2025 coming on November 21. One viewer said at the time: “Well that’s me down in the dumps! At least we have the extras to keep us going. Keep smiling peeps till next spring #GardenersWorld.”
“Aww that’s our programme over, thank you team #GardenersWorld You’ve excelled yourselves this year, great programmes every week, and winter specials to look forward to. Take care, keep gardening and I look forward to Spring 2026,” someone else agreed.
A third posted: “Does anyone else feel a wee bit ‘meh’ when it comes to the end of the GW season? I think I need to get a SAD lamp to see me through till spring. And dig out the seed catalogues. Take care everyone, time to rest.”
