Redding Garden of Lights opens in Turtle Bay Exploration Park

See the Redding Garden of Lights at Turtle Bay Arboretum. This walk-through holiday exhibit features 2 million lights illuminating 10 acres.

For the second straight year, the Redding Garden of Lights at Turtle Bay Exploration Park is among 10 must-see holiday attractions in the country.

The attraction, now in its sixth year, finished No. 10 in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards Botanical Garden Holiday Lights category.

Last year, the Redding light festival finished seventh.

The 2025 results were announced Wednesday, Dec. 10. The Readers’ Choice Awards highlight the best in travel, food and drink, and lifestyle.

Redding Garden of Lights was among 20 holiday light festivals nominated by a panel of experts. Readers then voted for their favorite. Voting was open for four weeks.

Night Lights at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hall in Boylston, Massachusetts, finished first.

Rounding out the top five were:

For the second straight year, Redding Garden of Lights was the only attraction in California to make the top 10.

 The Redding Garden of Lights runs through Jan. 4.

Ticket prices vary on holidays, but regular ticket prices for ages 16 and older are $23 for reserved nights, $28 for visitors. Tickets for children ages 3-15 start at $16. Ages 2 and younger get in free with their family. Turtle Bay members get discounts.
