Central Massachusetts is home to the best botanical garden holiday light display in the nation, according to USA TODAY readers.

Night Lights — New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill’s holiday light display — was the winner of the newspaper’s 10BEST Readers’ Choice Award for botanical garden holiday light displays this year. The Boylston botanical garden won out over 19 other displays selected by subject matter experts for the public to vote on.

“Our team works on Night Lights year-round, putting our hearts into creating festive experiences that celebrate the winter season and connect visitors to nature,” New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill CEO Grace Elton said in a press release. “Thank you to everyone who showed their support for the Garden and their sense of community pride by voting for Night Lights as number one in the nation.”

Night Lights boasts “half a million lights, immersive displays, and festive activities,” including fire pits and s’mores. Each part of the display has a different theme, and the garden offers 3D glasses for those looking for a little extra excitement.

Night Lights will be illuminated daily from 4 to 10 p.m. through Jan. 4, 2026. Tickets can be purchased online, and discounts are available for seniors, children and members. Parking is free, as are tickets for children aged 3 and under.
