Such a beautifully made video! I collect seeds from native plants and share them, but growing food has never been my forte as I don't water much. These folks really have it down. Anyway, wonderful editing and gorgeous color!
Wonderful! I’ve also been naturally air drying and keeping seeds … will share this video 🙏🏼
I would be very interested if a reliable body or organisation has calculated how much land would be needed for each of the countries in Great Britain to become self-sufficient for food, using a healthy reasonable balanced omnivorous diet as a blueprint. Wikipedia states that the entire area of GB is 209,331km2, which is 51.7 million (ac) acres. This includes EVERYTHING. Less than an acre per person.
I wonder just how practical organic, natural methods of cultivation would be?
I choose to grow all organic myself but that does not mean that I am blind to the needs to feed a population to remain healthy and alive. Even nature is a balance, woven together with compromises.
This is the way… thx for highlighting this coop.
A seed will fulfill the purpose it was given when it was created…
In terms of sustainability, reliance and food sovereignty, learning how to save and preserve seeds is my number one priority. Staring with foods you like to eat and have adapted well to your garden and gardening lifestyle is worth considering.
Soppy liberals
That amaranth is amazing.
Beautiful thanks for bringing this to us 🫶🏻 definitely going to try and be more pro active next year saving more seed X
Peni pizza beans!! A lovely video. Thanks for the reminder to order my seeds from the hwb
Excellent video. I'm in the US. I collect seeds for my own well being but would love to expand or connect with a group that is doing something similar. Is there anyone in the US doing something similar? Also, could you please share the name of the beautiful red plant? Is it some type of Amaranth?
Amazing work 🙌 once I can justify another seed spending spree I’ll head on over 😂 won’t be long
This is so important. Thank you for this video.
Why don’t you write a book on seeds how to gather and sow them?
Anyone who grows stuff (for food or joy) in their gardens can collect seeds as well as the produce.. I don't see the benefit of a local seed company – if I want seeds that are best for my region I can collect myself from my garden (even if the origin is from afar in the world, after one or two seasons one can select the best seed performers). The true benefit of seed companies is that they can make resistant seeds and can do scientific research that a samll company like this cannot do.
That's how we love to buy our seeds here in our house. Locally sourced because Florida has many growing zones. Thank you Huw we enjoy watching from Florida. Happy holidays to everyone across the pond and Happy Growing
Nicely done! Cheers, Albert
capitalism sucks
I grew some onions last year – three of them bolted and I decided to save the seed. I now have new little onion sprouts from those seeds – I hope they do ok. It's fun saving seed and watching your own seeds grow.
I always save coriander seeds too because they seem to grow much better from saved seed.
Local seeds grow strong communities! Feels so right to bring it all back home 🌱💚
So happy that finally you guys got there, since been at Penny place last year she was talking about it , congratulations 🎉will order some of that huge tomatoes 🍅 ❤
Beautifully shot and presented.
Such a stunning film and such an important topic. My local library has a seed library which has really got my kids excited about seeds and k have to control them around the drawers! But I am also excited to give back to it this year.
