  1. Good morning Kaye, this reminded me of my dear mom. She used to cut her own hair and color it. Sometime I would just sit by her watching her in amazement. TY for sharing ❤🙏

  2. Perfect Kaye! Thanks for the info on natural hair gel you use to maintain your color too. My hair is mostly all gray in the front with a little dark in the back – salt and pepper is what they call it and I love it. Stopped using all hair color products due to the toxins they contain and gradual thinning of my hair with age. Love the way you clip it up too to manage on days when you just don't want or have time to deal with it. You can still braid it too so lots of options left. It is a little scary to make that first cut but it always works out. Blessings…

  3. You need to use a hair pick after washing your hair.It is the easiest way,and less painful way,to make sure no tangles.
I just use it slowly and if I come to a tangle easy to work on it without losing a lot of hair.
Never sleep with it just lose.
    You have beautiful hair.

    God Bless
    Donna

  4. Looks like my hair…I know what you mean…I can't wear beanie's with a coat because my hair would bunch up uuugghhhh I'm thinking about just cut all of my hair off actually

  5. Yeah.bless you.i csnt tell you how I also get birds nests in my hair awwwch.he ge.xxx😂😂❤

  6. I was gonna say you look like a movie star and then you showed that photo of you in 2012 and I thought Bette Midler kinda looks like you 😉

  7. Well done kaye. That must have been hard to film, share and trimming your hair all whilst chatting to us.xxbig 🌟 for you clever you.oh im very pleased you trimmed and not used the hedge trimmer 😊. Love you.xx well done xx beautiful hair 😊. Xx

  8. My ex-wife used to put a small dab of Vaseline after washing her hair, then run it through with her finger, then brush it out. Her hair was never dry-looking. And never used any conditioner either. I believe her grandmother told her to try it, because her grandmother had long hair too.

  9. If you can, tease the tangles out with your fingers – it works better (and kinder) than a comb. Just bit by bit. My hair is just at the parting of the ways and I need to trim off the split ends too. When I was very ill in 2021, my hair got matted (I could sit on my hair then) so when I started to recover, my husband hacked it off for me. When I could lift my arms I then "tidied" it up. I had Wolverine hair when it bounced up. As it grew it became Lemony Snicket, followed by Hermione Granger and now Hagrid on steroids. I tend to have a big plait/braid down the back to keep it under control. I like your hair long – I'm not me with short hair, but when it needs to be done, it has to be trimmed because it'll just keep breaking off further up the hair shaft. Cheers for the tips!

  10. Order yourself a “wet brush”. Wet brush is the brand. They are THEE best brushes for not harming and ripped out fine hair like yours. I use them on myself and my two daughters and they are amazing. You can get one for under $15 easily. Your brush will no longer look like that and your hair will be better preserved with far less breakage.
    Great job on the cut!

  11. At 71, my hair is just as long as yours. It's wavy but llimp. It would take product to give it fullness. With a new thyroid issue it has been getting thinner and thinner. And I am preparing to have massive rotator cuff tear with pseudoparalysis. So I think I need to cut my hair for the first time in 2 decades. I cannot take care of it properly now. My hair matts easily as well. I have a similar wooden comb as you but I comb from the bottom up. I should only take off short amounts at a time until I adjust to the change.

  12. V05 silver is the best leave in conditioner that I use for the ends of my hair.
I was surprised they still made it. With white hair, you have to be so careful with conditioner; many will make your hair brassy, orange, or green tinted. (not a good look). With the V05 silver, that's not a problrm. Leaves hair shiney and it's normal white color.

  13. I think I have forgot to say Thank You for all the time and effort you put into your videos, to educate and encourage us.

  14. a wide tooth wooden comb is my all-time favorite, even when it split a little, I file it back & my c-mon scissors I picked up years ago in Chicago. Enjoy your fancy free freedom Sister golden hair ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

  16. Great job, Kaye. I bet it feels better getting those dead ends off. I, also, cut my own hair, very similar to the way you do yours.

  17. If you pull all of your hair forward, like you are making a ponytail at the top of your forehead, then do one straight cut, you will have perfect layers all the way to the ends. This is how I cut my long hair.

  18. Your hair looks awesome! I love the new length too!! Usually I pick up the sizers….then put them down and pick up the phone to call for an appointment at the salon. This video gives me the hope that I can do it too! Thanks so much Kaye!! It has been almost one year since I've had my hair trimmed also. I am excited to give this a go.
