. Consider Savvy Ways to Give:

IRA Rollover: Also called Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), you can give up to $108,000 from your IRA directly to the Garden and pay no income tax. Even better? Beginning in the year you turn 73, you can use your donation to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
Give Stock. Transfer ownership of stock to the Garden and receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value and avoid capital gains tax.
Bunching. Consider “bunching” your charitable gifts in 2025. By concentrating several years’ worth of giving into this year, you can itemize to maximize your deductions now, then take the standard deduction next year.
Grant from your DAF. If you’ve already funded a donor-advised fund (DAF), you can utilize this smart and easy tool to direct your support to the Garden.

Timing is Everything

To qualify for a 2025 federal tax deduction, mailed gifts must be postmarked by December 31. Credit card gifts must appear on your statement by Dec. 31. Gifts of securities, QCDs and assets may require extra time—be sure to start the process early. Best of all, donations made before Dec. 31 at midnight will be matched up to $125,000, making your gift go twice as far!

More Ways to Make a Difference at the Garden this Holiday Season:

1. Membership to the Garden makes the perfect gift—and protects the beauty of the desert. Enjoy unlimited admission, discounts on special events and more!

2. Honor someone special in your life by dedicating a candlelit Luminaria Tribute Bag with a personal commemoration before Dec. 10.

3. Know someone who prefers memory-making over material gifts? From guided yoga to photography, art and cooking classes, give the gift of a class at the Garden.

4. See if your employer participates in donation matching using our search engine. Ask your company if they offer gift matching for current or retired employees.

5. Impact future generations of plant life and desert-dwellers with a legacy gift in your will, trust, or estate plan.
