Center lanes closing overnight on Garden of the Gods Road east of I-25

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The center lanes of Garden of the Gods Road are set to close east of I-25 Wednesday for overnight construction work.

According to the City of Colorado Springs, the closure begins at 8 p.m. and will remain in place until 5 a.m. on Thursday. At least one lane will stay open in each direction.

City officials ask drivers to use extra caution on Garden of the Gods Road near Northpark Drive and Mark Dabling Boulevard. Safety barriers will be in place, along with heavy equipment, safety signage, artificial lighting and workers on foot.

The city said this project includes installing new traffic lights at Northpark Drive and Mark Dabling Boulevard to make the area safer for drivers and pedestrians.
