A GROUP of keen gardeners will be starting the new year with tips on how to keep costs down.
At their January meeting, members of California Gardeners Club will hear from horticultural expert Keith Hine how to generate plants for free.
The Finchampstead group has a range of topics planned for future sessions throughout 2026, including a feature on the folklore, growing, and culinary uses of herbs, how to grow fuschias, sweet peas and cannas, the work of Gertrude Jekyll, wild planting in urban environments, studies of herbaceous borders, and the private lives of butterflies.
The club meets on the first Monday of the month at California Ratepayers’ Hall, Finchampstead.
Their first session in 2026 will take place on Monday, January 5.
Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
Visitors are welcome, their entry costing £2.
