A beloved holiday tradition continues in Bulloch County, as members of the Bulloch Council of Garden Clubs have decked the halls with beautifully decorated Christmas trees.

Bulloch County’s garden clubs have once again ushered in the holiday season with a festive tradition that brings beauty and community spirit to key public spaces.

Members of all four clubs within the Bulloch Council of Garden Clubs—Brooklet Garden Club, Hoe and Hope, Sprig-N-Dig, and the Evergreen Club—have completed the decorating of Christmas trees at the Bulloch County Courthouse, the Clerk’s Office, Ogeechee Area Hospice, and the Statesboro Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Nancy Watson with the Brooklet Garden Club shared that this year’s effort represents a true countywide collaboration. Each club decorated a tree reflecting its own creativity and personality, from classic holiday themes to whimsical touches and handcrafted ornaments.

Juanita Morton, who serves as the Christmas Tree Committee Chairperson, coordinated the multi-location project.

“Our garden clubs look forward to this every year,” she said. “It’s a way for us to give back, brighten the season, and bring a little joy to the places our community visits most.”

At Ogeechee Hospice, a tree decorated by Hoe and Hope members Betty Reaves and Jenny Lee adds warmth and comfort for families visiting loved ones. At the courthouse and Clerk’s Office, teams of volunteers gathered to string lights, shape bows, and place ornaments—many of them handmade—resulting in a collection of trees that greet residents with festive color and charm. Visitors Bureau staff and guests are also enjoying a beautifully dressed tree provided by club members.

Garden club volunteers said the decorating days are filled with laughter, teamwork, and a shared commitment to community service—an extension of the clubs’ year-round mission to beautify public spaces and support civic projects.

Watson added that the Brooklet Garden Club recently received several recognitions through the Oleander District, with award details to be shared soon.
