Sonoma Botanical Garden has kicked off its holiday celebration, Gardens Aglow, transforming its 67-acre grounds into a “twilight wonderland” of lights, music, and festive activities.

The event runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Dec. 21, with timed, ticketed entry at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Visitors stroll through twinkling pathways, a glittering tunnel, and the Winter Workshop, which offers crafts, face painting, and holiday-themed activities.

Fire pits, lawn games, live piano music, hot chocolate, and local wines provide cozy moments for guests, and Santa makes appearances on select evenings.

Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for members, $12 for youth ages 5 to 17, and free for children 4 and under. Advance purchase is required; the event takes place rain or shine.

“Gardens Aglow creates a joyful gathering place where our community can make lasting memories,” said Jeannie Perales, the garden’s executive director earlier this month.

The event is supported by Sonoma Clean Power and the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley.

The garden, founded in 1987, is home to Asian and California native plants, a California oak savanna, and a Cabernet vineyard. It is located at 12841 Highway 12 in Glen Ellen. More information and tickets are available at sonomabg.org or by calling 707-996-3166.
