Award from Master Gardener President Venson Henderson during the annual awards
ceremony held December 4, 2025, in Searcy.

The annual award honors an active Master Gardener who has not previously received the recognition and who demonstrates outstanding commitment to helping first-year program graduates successfully integrate into the organization. Hill was selected for her hands-on approach, consistent support, and meaningful leadership throughout her mentee’s first year of service.

Hill’s mentoring included answering research-based horticulture questions, attending workdays and county events together, encouraging project participation, and assisting with volunteer hour reporting and program expectations. Her mentorship helped her mentee feel welcomed, confident, and engaged in the Master Gardener community.

Program leaders say Hill’s work reflects the core mission of the Arkansas Master Gardener Program—to cultivate knowledgeable, service-minded volunteers who support their communities while expanding their gardening expertise.

The Mentor of the Year Award highlights the vital role experienced members play in fostering teamwork, leadership, and educational service across White County’s thriving horticulture initiatives.
