I've fallen in love with coleus. So many different varieties, so simple to grow and propagate, completely unbothered by humidity level, both high or low. Just give em a grow light and off they go!

LOVE A COLEUS!! They’re also so easy to propagate. I used to have a big red one til I moved house. She got like 2 ft tall and very bushy bc I kept her pruned when small. Edit:spelling

  2. My coleus is so dramatic! I do love it, as much as it gets testy with me haha

So pretty! But for whatever reason, I cannot keep these alive!! What am I doing wrong?!? 😅

This is such an outdoor plant in my brain I can’t see it inside my house and they aren’t common in house plant stores where I live, but you’re right, they come in many beautiful colors.

  5. They are great indoors. I like the large leaf varieties indoors because the smaller leaf varieties can make a huge mess if they drop old leaves.

It is a plant I have never warmed to, they just dont do it for me,

These make awesome terrarium plants too.
I have used them in the past and right now have some tiny petunias just popping flowers everywhere.

I love how fast coleus propagate and grow. I have a full pot that started with just a little piece. Also fun to see how they react to different light sources. Next summer I will get more varieties to grow indoors.

Are you by chance Swedish? I feel like 9/10 Swedes have these in their house. But yea I associate them w outside landscaping in U.S. so I’ve never wanted one as a houseplant. But I also don’t pay tons of money for variegated plants either

I love coleus! Usually very inexpensive too.

They are very pretty and look cool, but they don’t hit the same way as pink variegation. This one is hot pink/red and it’s just different.

I had a massive one in my house, and it WAS beautiful! But omfg I’m having flashbacks of it now 😭 if I even TOUCHED that plant it would shed like 100 leaves onto the floor. Its leaves were everywhere!!!

I love coleus, so many different variations and easily accessible from local nursery. Easy to propagate too!

I used to not be interested in caladiums as well , since I usually want flowers, but then when I saw their foliage, I was hooked.

Coleus and caladiums and other colorful leafy plants are definitely something I like, but it doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive.

I would still want a pink variegated plant too.

Nice! They remind me of begonias in a way, long angle wing like leaves. Thank you for sharing!!!

The leaves on mine were super green and now they look very faint. The red/pink part hasn’t really changed. Maybe too much direct sunlight?

I love them too! Plus, they grow so easily from seed. I start 200-400 in seed blocks every spring for my yard and usually take cuttings to bring indoors for the winter just to have more color inside. 😊❤️💚🌱

I have the same one in my house!! The second one lol. I got a six pack of variegated ones from the garden center last spring and one broke off before I got them in the ground so I decided to throw it in some water and see if it would root as an experiment. It did, and it now lives on my kitchen counter 😊
