Hey party people!
I’ve wanted to make an ecosphere for about a year now… and so today I finally committed!!

I went to a nearby stream, in the middle of the walking trail there’s a huuuge open pool of still water with tonnes of plants, micro/macro algae, and lilypads!
My jar is 2.2l and is sitting on a sunny north-facing window. It’s summer here right now so I have no need to worry just yet, but I will need to get a lamp for winter.

I live in the north island of New Zealand, so I’m not sure if some of the species I spot will be foreign to a lot of you— but please do help me ID since I’m not sure of any species yet!

I made sure to grab tonnes of seaweed, plants, rocks covered in algae and even a lilypad! Although I’m not sure if it will live or not?
I also made sure to grab my substrate from an area with a lot of plant matter, and left a good amount of empty space for air!

Any comments, advice, criticism, ect. Is welcome and greatly appreciated! I’ve already been staring at my jar since I bought it home and cleaned it, so I’ll probably start another sometime!
