I have heard that it is very good for companion gardening. Keep it with your plants where insects are present. But my experience is that I get so many comments and I feel that marigold has its own problems. When it flowers first, it dries up. Many people have told me that its buds are not growing. They are getting black and getting spoiled. Many people have told me that it is having mille bulbs and raffits. Many people have commented that it is spreading in leaves like white powder and this plant is getting spoiled. Some people have told me that it is getting black and getting spoiled. I have also told you that spider mite is a very common problem. White color webs are formed in the plant and the plant gets spoiled. Whatever you do in it, it is not good and it also has leafminers. Many people tell me that after flowering once, it has not flowered again. So if you want that the marigold plant in your house to flower very well, it is very thick and there is no problem, then you have to watch this video. In today’s video, I am going to give you 11 tips. If you follow these 11 tips, whether you are a beginner or an experienced, it is not possible that the marigold plant in your house does not flower fully. So let’s start. I am going to tell you three things in tip number one. The first is a very big myth that the flowers of marigold should not be watered. You should not shower, you should not spray, which is completely wrong. This is a typical outdoor plant. If you keep it outside, in the winter season, it will fall in the rain. Sometimes the leaves fall. How far will you save it? On the contrary, I recommend that you keep the marigold plant clean. Whenever I water it, I clean it, I bathe it well. But I always do this work. I do it in the morning or in the afternoon. The second thing is that this plant likes to be watered. If you water it from time to time, you will see that it is having a lot of impact. The third expert tip is that it has a little more infection and fungal infection. You have to be a little careful about cleaning. Whenever you are putting it in a pot, clean it well first. If you are putting it in some soil, you do not have to do that there was a plant in a pot. Then there was a problem in it and it got spoiled. Then you put the marigold in it. You should not do this. The pruner should be completely clean and sanitized. Tip number 2. There are some problems in the plant as it starts to dry. The leaves start to dry completely. The leaves start to turn yellow. Or the leaves start to bend. Or the leaves become white-white powdery. There is a big reason behind this. Either the water is more or the water is less. Let me tell you. The marigold plant should always maintain moisture in its soil. It should maintain moisture. If its soil is completely dry, then this plant starts to rot. It starts to dry. And then it becomes very difficult to recover. And there should not be over-watering in it. Water is already in the soil. You have given it again. That means you are giving water daily. While its soil is already wet. The plant gets damaged due to the attack of fungus. Its roots are very sensitive and soft. So it gets damaged due to the rot. And that is why the plant gets damaged. I give it water once in a good amount. Until the water comes out of the bottom. And then I just check it daily. If the soil is wet from above, then I do not give water. When I feel that the soil on the top has dried in 2-3 days. I do a kneading. After kneading, I take it out. And I give water in it. Tip number 3. How big pot should you keep the marigold? This is very important. For this, the pot should not be too big. And it should not be too small. For this, a pot of 8 to 10 inches is more than sufficient. Do not keep it in a bigger pot than this. Its roots do not spread that much. If you keep it in a big pot for no reason, then it will get over-watering. And the plant will get damaged. All these plants you are seeing behind me. All of them are in 8 inches or 6 inches. And they are growing very well. At the same place, I have put some in 12-inch pots. And their condition is not very good. And if you are gardening in the balcony, then why do you have to keep them in unnecessary big pots? Second thing. If your experience is not good with marigold yet, then you should only put it in a pot of soil. In a pot of soil, air passes. When there is over-watering, then the soil absorbs extra water. Tip number 4. Marigold is a winter plant. And you will get it in the nursery from October to March. If you want to buy it in between, you can buy it. Some marigolds are seasonal. They live for 4 to 5 months. And some marigolds can last for a year. It depends on how you care. The perfect temperature for this is between 10 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius. Tip number 5. You can grow marigolds in your home in many ways. First is nursery. I told you from October to March. In between, you can bring it to your home anytime. You will get it for 20 to 30 rupees. You will not get it very healthy in the nursery. You will have to make it thick. You will only see 2 to 3 buds. Maximum. And this is the easiest way to grow at home. The second way is to grow it from seeds. If you want to grow it from seeds, then the seeds should be good. This is very important. By the way, the flowers that come in the house, you can dry them and grow seeds from them. But the temperature matters a lot. The temperature should be between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. And you can grow marigolds in the season of leaves. In October, you can also add seeds to it around Diwali. The third way to grow marigolds is to use cutting. And this is very easy. Take any marigold and cut it like this. Remove the lower leaves. Fill a glass with water. It can be plastic, glass or steel. And dip it. Do not keep in the sun. Keep it in a place where there is enough light and no PV water. You have to change this water in 5 days. Within 1 to 1.5 months, you will get roots in it. Then you can shift it in your own way in leek ball, sand, or soil. Tip No. 6 Marigold needs minimum 4 hours of sunlight. Take above 4 hours. 5 hours, 6 hours, 7 hours, it grows very well. All my plants take 6 to 7 hours of sunlight. They are growing very well and flowering back to back. But if you give it less sunlight, like if you keep it in 1 to 2 hours of sunlight, then the flowering is not equivalent. And it may also damage its health and become very weak. My marigold plant is just for R&D. I kept it in a place where it gets 2 hours of sunlight to experiment. Care and everything else is the same. But its condition is not good. Some people wonder that sometimes in the cold season of the year, sometimes it happens that there is no sunlight. That’s okay. If there is no sunlight, then what will you do? But the day the sun comes, that day you will keep it in the maximum place with sunlight. Tip No. 7 Marigold plant does not like repotting that much. There are some plants like curry leaves. You kept it here and there, it was shocked. You changed the pot, it went into stress. But this is not the case with marigold. Obviously, from October to March, there will be a time. In the meantime, you can bring it from outside anytime. After bringing, you will not immediately shift it to the pot. You will let it adjust in your home for 2 days. Everything is fine for 2 days. After that, you will put it in the pot for the third day. And you have to do the whole process in the evening. While repotting, two things are very important. First, I loosen the soil a little from below. I loosen it so that its roots spread quickly in the new pot in the new soil. Adjust quickly. And the second thing is that I cut the flowers and buds that are coming in it. Because I don’t want it to flower and then dry. The plant takes a lot of energy to flower. And here repotting is also happening. That is, the plant is shifting. The plant can go in shock. That’s why I cut all the flowers. Tip number 8. The soil of the marigold plant is a little different from the soil of the other plants. When we do gardening in the pot container, we have to take a lot of care of the soil. If the soil is good, then only the plant will grow. We don’t have to take so much care in the ground. Its soil should neither be sticky nor stone. There should be no type at all. It should be as if you gave water. The more water you soak the soil, the more water it will drain out of the drainage hole. And along with that, nutrients should also be good in the soil. So how do you make its soil? You will see carefully. Whatever soil you have in your area, first clean it. And make sure there is no fungus in it. There should be no fungus or nematodes in it. I am making this soil for two pots of 10 inches. The amount of soil you have taken. I am taking a little less than half of it. You can take half of it. But there is no need for so much compost in it. I have taken a little less than half of it. Take any compost. Take half of the compost. We are taking coco peat so that the moisture remains maintained for a while. And a very important thing I am adding is sand. If you have sandy soil, then the matter is different. If it is a soft soil, then it is very important for you to use it. The way to mix it is something like this. Like we put the flour. So we keep checking by adding water. We add as much as needed. So what you have to do in this is you have to add a little sand. And then you have to hold it like this. If it is tight when it opens, then you have to add a little more sand. And if it is opening like this after opening, then you do not have to add sand. I am adding a little sand. I cook food on the stove at home. There is a little sand of the stick wood. This is completely optional. And after that, there is a very important thing. Trichoderma. This is completely organic fungicide. If you watch my videos, then you must have seen that I generally use pure fungicide or cinnamon powder. But these two things are not effective in marigold. Trichoderma is effective. I added about a spoon of it with a little idea. And now you have to mix it very well. Tip number 9. Whenever you bring a marigold plant from the nursery, it will not be very thick. It will have only one or two branches. It will have only one or two buds. But you have to make it thick in your house. So that it keeps flowering back to back. At least as long as it is in your house, it should bloom throughout the season. What to do? The first thing is to break the flowers that have bloomed in it. This is very important. There are some plants whose flowers fall off after blooming. Like Harishringar, Gudhela, Sadabahar. But it will not fall off in the field. And if you do not break the flowers while blooming, then the flowering of the other plant will stop. This plant can also dry. There are two ways to break the flowers. First, simply break the flowers as they are. You can break it from below. From here. The second way, which I like very much, it is very effective. Break it from a little below. Where you can see the leaves, break it here. If you break it from here, then new branches will come out in it. And the plant will be thick. The thicker it is, the more buds and flowers will come. If you see its leaves yellow or dry, then remove them. It works a little. Some people say that flowering is done. And then the plant dried up. The reason for this is that the flower did not break from time and the plant dried up. Tip number 10. This is the second last tip. It is very important. Many people say that when Marigold was in the nursery, it was growing. It stopped growing at our house. The buds are getting black, drying up, not growing. Many problems. Back to back flowering is not happening. The big reason for this is that you have to take care of it. You are not giving it as much fertilizer as it needs. By the way, Marigold is not a heavy feeder plant. Rose is a heavy feeder plant. It needs a lot of nutrition. Marigold does not need that much. But it is very important to give it as much as it needs. The plant becomes weak due to the lack of nutrition. The first thing is that it likes two main fertilizers very much. The first is mustard seed. Mustard seed is a mustard seed fertilizer. Fix a date once a month. Suppose one day. Give it a good mustard seed. I have made a complete video on mustard seed. You can watch it after watching it. The second fertilizer that it likes very much is banana peel fertilizer. Do not spray these two fertilizers. You just have to give it in the soil. Give it on the first day. Mustard seed. And give it on the 15th. You give banana peel. That is more than sufficient. But if you think that you are giving these two things. Still your marigold plant is not recovering. It is getting dry. It is getting dry. In that condition, you have to stop the mustard seed cake and give the groundnut seed cake. Peanuts seed seed. I have also made a complete video on this. You will give it on your plant after watching it. In the winter season. Peanuts peel is not available that much. Because banana is not consumed that much. So you can sometimes give onion peel instead of banana. Banana peel is very effective for flowering. Keep that as a priority. But if it is not. So you can give onion peel instead of it. These four fertilizers are more than sufficient. Epsom salt. Seaweed. Urea. DAP. Etc. etc. There is no need to give. By giving urea and DAP, you do not spoil the soil of your plant. Tip number 11. Which is very important. All the problems that come in marigold. In which aphids, milleberg, powdery mildew, spider mite. All these insect and pest related problems. How to avoid them. First thing. Make a pot of neem leaves. In winter, it runs for a month. Every fifth day I spray it on marigold. If you spray it once a week. Then your marigold will not have such problems. If you can not spray neem. Then you can buy plant protector. I will mention the link in the description. It is completely organic. You will use it. Even then the insects will not be affected. Second thing. I use trichoderma. I use trichoderma every 15 days. I put a little bit of trichoderma in the soil. And water. And I also spray the rest of trichoderma when I put it in the soil. If you are doing these two things. Like neem spray or plant protector. And trichoderma. Then there is a chance of infection on this plant. There is a chance of insects. Still. If there are insects in your plant. It has become a whole net. Like when spider mite comes. Then leaf miner and mildew comes with the attack. If you have spider mite in your plant. Or leaf miner. Or powdery mildew attack. What you have to do in all these conditions. Remove the affected part first. Do not let it spread too much. The plant has to be washed very well with clean water. With spray bottle. After washing. You have to take a little trichoderma in 1 liter of water. Take 7 ml plant protector. Mix it well. Spray it very well on the plant. And put it in the soil. You have to do this on alternate days. 1,3,5,7. So that the problems. Spider mite, mildew, leaf miner. All these will be gone. The plant will be saved. If there are aphids or mealy bugs. Then also you can save it by using plant protector. I do not put neem oil in it. I put neem oil in many plants. And I also recommend it. But neem oil is very strong. Its leaves. They get spoiled very quickly with neem oil. They start burning. If there are simple insects. Like aphids. And there are mealy bugs. And you do not want to buy plant protector. Then you can get any insecticide from the nursery. I used a lot of things in marigold. Like baking soda. I used neem oil. I used garlic water. I used a lot of things. But it was not effective.
