With the red apples, Iโd try putting a thick coat of the clear/sealer on first and letting that dry. It might prevent the color from bleeding.
Tim Holtz Rock Candy chunky glitter for the win!
The Borax method is the way to go. Look it up. I think those are the crystals you are talking originally about.
To keep oranges from turning brown after they are cut , cover them with water put 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoons of salt and soak them for 30 minutes then blot out as much water with paper towels, then dry them . I dried mine for 4 hours in a hydrator then when they were dry enough I brushed them with mod podge it makes them shiny. The lemon juice and salt helps the oranges from turning brown. Have a Blessed day everyone!
Diamond Dust works great for this too
I have used clear micro beads either glass or plastic to give the look of sugared items at Christmas. Same application you used, mod podge or thinned down glue. No need to seal.
Pears ๐ Pears look great sugared.
The mantle is beautiful.
Epsom Salt works great for a frosted look using modpodge. I just made some frosted mason jars & they are beautiful.
I loved watching the concentration on Samanthaโs face as she was doing her fruit.
I would go lighter on the mod podge.
What if you did the sanding sugar on the orange slices?
๐๐๐,,,TRY using EPSOM SALT to coat faux Fruit,,it GlissensAND will hold up outdoors….
What if you sprayed the red apples first with the Mod Podge spray before you painted them? Might help to keep the color intact
The rock on the fireplace is pretty maybe just a different door front would make it feel more simple
Beautiful! What about using epsom salt?
I made luminaries using mod podge and epson salt on glass candle cylinder s for my daughterโs wedding. It was beautiful for a winter wedding! You can use battery candles or real ones!
Question- do Benjamin and Samantha go to school? Seems they are always around when youโre filming, and you never mention it!
Course kosher salt works really good also.
I have clove oranges still that I made 30 years ago. The oranges are solidly covered in cloves and still smell divine! Crazy!
I wonder what a sprig of crabapples would look like sugared ๐ค
I love your fire place!! Beautiful source of heat!
People list many options for replacing the sugar on items one wants to store. Sugar will absorb moisture, yes I know it is dry where you live, but sticky stored xmas decorations will bring both ants and mice. Not great.
Could you use your fruit in the fireplace arrangement too? It's beautiful either way. Thanks for your awesome channel and sharing your family with us.
Merry Christmas to all of you at GA community โค
I donโt think Iโve ever seen a stack of firewood on your property. If you have fires every night, you must have a stack somewhere that you draw from where is that?
It looks beautiful. Sugared fruits looks awesome happy holidays to all of you.
If you spray seal the apples before applying the mod podge they probably won't bleed through.
The mantel is gorgeous
Love a Mom/Daughter project! Favorite Laura quote..re the beautiful mantle pots from JanuaryโฆโโฆI left them because I just really enjoyed them..โ Inspired me to do the Christmas decor that I really enjoy this year! ๐๐ฅฐ๐
Try using epsom salts instead of sugar.
What a cool craft idea! I'll have to try it. I love your fireplace. Yes, it is dated but I don't think I'd change a thing. And it looks great decorated for Christmas. โค
The fireplace looks beautiful!โค๏ธ
What about pine cones?
