Christmas Came Early

S/O to @drop_zone_101 for the unexpected early Christmas present!!! S. Leucophylla ‘Purple Lips’ x ‘Royal Ruby’. He and I live in the same climate so it’s nice to see a plant that holds traps THIS PERFECT deep into the growing season like this plant. We’ve already had a few dips into the low 20’sF in our area. This trap was 25” before I cut it off.

I chopped it because leaving it attached would have made it more difficult for the plant to stay rooted into the media being so top heavy and its dormant already. It’ll spend winter sending roots down into its new home and anchoring itself in so that it’ll be locked and ready for spring!!
