Found out they use silica sand. We live in Tampa. I see alignment, uneven lay and missing sand in between the pavers. Tell me ifI’m being too critical. They’re coming out tomorrow to review so want to be well prepared and realistic.
I’d say they are damn near perfect, but I’m no expert. I see what you’re saying about the sand, they could probably apply a bit more but to be fair it compressess when watered, and those pavers don’t look like they’re going anywhere so the sand is enough to do its job. The alignment though, is super good in my opinion, I don’t see a problem at all there

Looks good to me. I might have offset the soldier course so that the gaps didnt meet like that but whatever. For sand, on the westcoast silica sand is normal. Polymeric is better but pricey. $1.50 a sq ft installed.
Edit: yes, silica sand is going to compact as it gets watered in. Expect to have them back for a top up in the spring after the weather has done its’ thing.

It’s superb 👌 I get the nitpicky bit, I’m a perfectionist too, and can imagine how a minute misalignment can nag one’s mind! I’m guilty of it 😅 let it go! Amazing job
