This is just for show. The people that built this wore overalls and knee pads.
As a lamdscaper, im really sorry to say but you guys messed up a bit. You have to dig a bit deeper to be able to put in 2-4 Inches of 3/4 inch gravel, compress that, then you put sand over it.
One gopher under that and it’ll sink after the first rain. Glad you guys did it together but gravel compacted then sand
